Golden-amber. The aroma is almost pumpkiny with lots of nutmeg. Creamy body. Spice cake, lots of spice cake on the palate, with abundant nutmeg. Smooth finish, well-balanced.

Light brown. Not much head. Lightly toasty and fairly chocolatey. Decent, a good balanced porter.

Amber, bright. Nice sparkle. Thick head. Malty, crackery, with light diacetyl. Foul/funky taste...wow this really finishes poorly.

On tap at the High Desert Brewpub. Pours a light orange color with a nice off-white head and great lacing. The aroma is light pine and floral hops, pale malts and some bready yeast. The flavor is very well balanced malt sweetness and hop bitterness. The palate is medium to heavy, effervescent, and fizzy. Overall, this is a subdued and well made DIPA, with a good flavor and great mouthfeel.

On tap at the High Desert Brewpub. Pours dark amber with a thin head. The aroma is caramel malts, and floral and earthy hops. The flavor is sweet and fairly bitter. The palate is medium to heavy, flat and syrupy. Overall, this was a lackluster barleywine, but not bad.

Growler thanks to Jcwattsrugger. Pours like chunky apple cider. Tons of hop sediment. Nose and tastes of dry hops and caramel malt. Slightly bitter.

[At GABF 2004] An unclear brown beer with a fine orange head. The aroma is sweet and primarily roasty, while the flavor is sweet with hints of nuts. More powerful than an English Brown Ale, but lacking something compared to its American cousins.
