Sample from cask at the Grandview Summer Session on 08/22/2015. The beer is a slightly hazy orange color with a medium white head that recedes steadily. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of tropical fruit, hops and peppers. Light-bodied with flavors of pineapple, oniony hops and jalapeño. The finish is fruity with a subtle peppery aftertaste. Above average overall.

Refrigerated 12 oz. aluminum can poured into a glass. Hazy deep golden with small white head. Aroma is bubblegum, medium/light body, low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is bubblegum, grainy, and some off favors. Slightly better than home brew.

From a can is high hopped ipa aroma. Pour is somewhat viscous. Look is somewhat cloudy hefe. Taste is rudely and terribly on style. What else can be said? Will never get used to these ipa monstrosities. Finish borders on double ipa. Build a funeral pyre for my poor Flemish loven taste buds.

Sample at the taproom. The beer pours a bright reddish-purple color with a medium thin white head that evaporates steadily to a film. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of berries, wheat and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of blackberries, herbal wheat, honey and malt. The finish is fruity with a blackberry aftertaste. Decent overall.

A surprisingly good looking pour from a can, big foaming to rocky head. Taste is almost cloying sweet stout, overly so. Much more milk in this is apparent compared to other milk stouts. Yes, perhaps the alky content makes this a little too forward. Smooth and velvety it is but couldn’t drink a few of these. Charcoal aftertaste with cloying finish. Can’t get used to this. Not impressed by sweet stout attributes.

On draught at the taproom. The beer is a dark mahogany-amber color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes quickly to an dense foamy film. Sparse small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, whiskey and caramel. Full-bodied with flavors of sweet whiskey, caramel malt and fruit. The finish is moderately boozy with an oaky whiskey aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of piney hops, grapefruit and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

From a $2 can slightly colder than room temp. Very nice white head on a pale ale. Big hop feel on a medium ipa thang. Decent co2 visual and on the tongue. Sweet? Not sure. Goes down fairly easy for how warm it is. Can’t discern mildly fumy off beer aroma. You’d think it would smell a little like ipa, good or bad, but no.

Sampled in draft at Vintage Estate this beer poured a black color with a large creamy brown bear that left decent lacing. The aroma was roasty, malty, a bit smoky and had a touch of lactose. The flavor was bitter and smoky with coffee, a faint sour note and a bit of lactose. Long finish. Medium body. Disappointing.

Sample at Daily Growler UA. Pours a clear amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing. Aroma of roast malt, caramel and hops. Medium-bodied with a sweet maple and malt character, with mild hops and fruit in the background. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.
