My first beer from this brewer - and one right up my alley. +++ Sampled on draft at Vintage Estate this beer poured a dark brown color with faint orange highlights and a small foamy tan head that left great lacing. The aroma was dry and malty with toffee, chocolate and an underlying fruitiness. The flavor was dry and malty toffee, chocolate, bread crust and a hint of fruit. Medium length finish. Medium body. Well done.

Sample at Daily Growler UA during the "Ballast Point Tap Invasion" on 02/19/2025. This brew pours a dark brown color with a medium light beige head that diminishes steadily to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of spices, malt and vanilla. Light-bodied with a flavor that captures the essence of carrot cake pretty well, including the frosting. The finish is carrot cake spices and vanilla. While it doesn’t 100% nail the flavor like Short’s did, it’s still pretty enjoyable.

Classic US brewpub IPA. Rich depth of piny, resinous NW hops. Pretty solid offering, no shortage of hops. Better than average. Good beer.
