Draft in tulip glass at the source, opaque black and full bodied. Roasted grain aroma. Not quite the taste you would expect for this style - rough on the palate. Bitter malt finish.

Can, no date, shared by Stacey on 3/24/18.
Deep brass, very hazy-to-soupy. White head fades to a ring quickly.
Smells juicy and full of mango-lime and rich honey. Green hop saturates the nose and provides more robust character than the non-DDH version. Still very intensely NE IPA-like with heavily fruity, juicy and estery notes from yeast/hop combo. No alcohol or flaw.
In the mouth it's very fruity, juicy and showing more vibrant, spicy, dank, green hop character than the regular version. Soft, malty, tons of honey and biscuit with low-to-moderate bitterness, lots of nectarine, pineapple and lime-mango. Juicy and bright with little/no resin and pretty good attenuation and carbonation levels.

Can, no date, shared by Stacey on 3/24/18.
Bronze maize golden, thick and borderline soupy. White head is small, dense, slowly fading to ring.
In the nose it's rich with honey, light caramel, strong biscuit and fruity yeast as well as strong NE IPA notes of mango-lime and rich pineapple. Not sharp or resinous with plentiful bubble gum-like ester integrated pretty well with the hops.
In the mouth it's "thick" and creamy with rich biscuit, cracker and honey-like malts helping to pronounce the fruity, juicy hops. Bubble gum, light melon and pine with grapefruit and nectarine adding a touch of dryness. Soft, well-carbonated and pretty well-attenuated, though it does present a sweeter type of IPA, though I think that's mostly perceived due to the juicy hops, fruity yeast and rich malts.

Got in a trade from spelingchampeon. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 5/7/2018. Pours very hazy/cloudy medium golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/rind, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/rind, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.2%. Overall this is an excellent IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/resinous/drying finish, not aggressive. Nice showcase of Citra/Mosaic. Very well balanced vibrant, dank, earthy, and juicy hop complexity; nice pale/wheat malt backbone, with minimal residual sweetness. Not quite an NEIPA, but about halfway to it from a West coast style. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.
