Tap at the brewery - so I’ll have to echo Mike here and point out that this is basically a dunkel - it’s a decent beer, though - a lot of rich, toasty maltiness, dark bread - the finish has a kind of burnt sugar character, though, and the dry hop creates a weird earthy compliment to the burn/charred sugars in the finish - it’s okay.

Tap at the brewery - lightly hazy light amber - poorly-executed dunkelweizen- watery texture, some damp husky kind of grainy character, some dark bread but also an off kind of medicinal malt flavor - a touch of banana - watery, thin finish - lame.

Tap at the brewery - more like a Hefeweizen than a smoked - hazy gold with a frothy lace - nose has subdued smoke, some soft wheat, a touch of banana - fairly creamy texture - flavor is a little dull - some lemon/tartness and wheat, melon rind, very mild smoke and a bit of pepper - overall it’s a decent beer, but when you advertise smoke I expect to taste it - it only comes through as it warms and even then very little.
