Brewery Martens has been in business for 260 years. Throughout our rich history, which remains embedded in our native town of Bocholt to this very day, the brewery has always remained in hands of the Martens family. Yet, while we put great store by our family history, all eight generations of the Martens family have also continuously been driven by innovation and state-of-the-art processes, which is what has made us into one of the most modern and innovative breweries in the country today.

Beer tasting & B2B event hosted by Belgian Embassy in Croatia, thanks for the invite. Unclear golden, small off-white head. Grassy, herbal, zesty, citrusy, floral. Light bitterness, grainy and herbal flavour. Medium body, moderate carbonation, light finish.

Pours a clear dark amber brown. It has a caramel malt aroma with a little spicy yeast. The flavor is sweet and similar with the characteristic Belgian flavors pretty mild. It’s okay, but passing this off as a dubbel? Oof.

Pours clear gold and smells of grainy, bready malt. The flavor is sweet, more so than other pils I’ve had recently, and bready with minimal hops. Light bodied and drinkable but bland and very forgettable.

Pours clear gold with a one finger white head. It smells of spicy yeast and bready malt. It tastes of sweet bready malt and spicy yeast with some mild hops mainly in the somewhat dry finish. It’s pretty one dimensional but not bad.

Pours cloudy pale yellow with a one finger white head. It smells of coriander and citrus. The flavor is on the sweet side with coriander, clove, and citrus. It’s light and bubbly and goes down easy. Maybe it could use a bit more character, but to me it’s a pretty solid wit beer

Can 50 cl. Light golden with white foam. Aroma: light malt and grain, a little candy and molasses, hoppy hints. Taste: malty, sweetish, corn and molasses, very little hops, sadness.

50cl can from Auchan Hypermarket in Tonnerre in France. F: medium, snow-white, average retention. C: gold, clear. A: malty, fusel alcohol, caramel, mellow fruity, apples peels. T: medium malty base, caramel, apples, vodka like alcohol, medium carbonation, cheap strong beer yet not totally bad.

Blik thuis gedronken. Gelig troebel bier met matig schuim dat als een film blijft liggen. Aroma en smaak van sinas. Weinig nasmaak.
