Dark brown. Dark chocolate, some nuttiness. It's a mess. Nothing stands out. Not a bad mess like things don't work, but just nothing stands out so you have a big strong beer, lots of booze, so it is thin. As it turns out, this just kind of falls apart. Not badly or anything but there's definitely better variants of this beer and as multi-barrel bitchslaps go, this isn't really getting there.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is rather monstrous, with salt, bourbon barrels, and cocoa. Flavour is smooth, with lots of whiskey, coffee and cocoa upfront, with a touch of salt. Not really noticing the almonds or coconut. Comes across rather flat and lacking depth, but there's obviously plenty of whiskey depth here. Good, but very gimmicky -- barrel aged salt, barrel aged almonds? Give me a break. Just a good BA impie stout with adjuncts.

0.650 l bottle from Ambasada. Share with Ogi. Dark brown, small beige head. Lots of coffee at first, green peppers, roasty, oak, chocolate. Some alcohol. Medium body, moderate carbonation, quite sticky. Nice roasty flavour profile, lots of coffee beans, ground coffee. Lasting dry finish.

Super deep dark brown coloured body with a fairly thick, but fast-fading lighter brown head, that starts off at about two centimetres in height and fades fairly quickly to just a thin layer on top. Aroma of peppermint, molasses, oatmeal and some roasted malts, but there is also a dank and rustic grainy quality with some lactose here that is a bit funky, especially at the end of the nose. Medium-bodied; Fairly strong roasted malt and oatmeal notes come out at first with the malt playing a big factor, but so are the peppermint and molasses with the slightly rustic grainy and pungent finish, but the alcohol finally comes through showing off at the finish with the dryness from the vanilla, mint and malts, of course. Aftertaste shows the peppermint without too much of an outlet in the drier, lower to medium-bodied malts without much pungency, more on the softer, minty and mild side without any cloying sugars or depth - more on the top-layer, lighter notes. Overall, a decent and fairly well-seasoned beer with the definite peppermint notes, but on a slightly glossy and on-the-top characteristic as opposed to one that has a lot of flavour and depth. Decent, but not showing anything really worthwhile in terms of finish or complexity. Still, nice to sample for the season and when it's chilly outside, but not worth trying to find or grab when you can get it! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria (Potomac Yard), Virginia on 29-November-2021 for US$5,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 08-February-2022.

Refrigerated brown bomber poured into a snifter. Black with small beige head. Aroma is whiskey, medium body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is chocolate, whiskey, wood, and booze. Heavy, but complex.

Black, with plenty of tan head. Smell is slightly damp papery, but mostly roast and light coffee. Pretty light body, more than average carbonation. Taste is roasty most of all, with some light coffee. Subtle brandy in the background. Light but tasty.
