On tap at powderhaus brewing. Pours out a crisp golden topped with a white head. Nose is big pine hops bread malts a old school NW IPA. Taste is more of the pine hops malts and a bitter grapefruit pithy end.

Grunt fill from Winco.Dark amber pour, head fades to to tiny ring. Barely there aroma, faint hints at some roast grains and molasses. Taste picks up a bit with some sweet malt , dries out a bit at the finish, kind of metallic. Also seems kind of watery. Room for improvement.

Draft at Tilted Kilt. Pretty mild, pretty bland. Golden body, with very minimal head. Faint malty aroma leads into weak grainy flavor, no hops to speak of,. unmemorable.

On tap at the garden city brewery. Rich dark chocolate brown. Dense creamy tan head. Earthy mild chocolate malt flavors. A touch of roast and coffee and old leather. I dont get much if any of the distinctive peaty scotch qualities. I would have called this a smooth rich brown ale.

On tap at the Garden City brewery Clear golden. modest white head and weblike lacing. Light pale malts, prominent farmhouse yeast flavors. Moderate body and palate. feels rather big for a saison.

Draft at Squawkyfest. Average scotch ale, borwn body with small, thin head. Normal peaty, earthy characters, taste just average. About what you’d expect for the style.

Draft at Squawkyfest. I’ve been told to give them another chance, so I did. This was bad. I mean it was supposed to be a saison. Not even close. Its as if someone mixed up all of their recipes and they haven’t figured it out yet. So instead of telling you what it is, because I kept looking for the saison notes, I can tell you what it isn’t. Pale golden, tiniest of bubbly heads, generic malts and hops. Very disappointing.

Bottle, picked up at Brewer’s Haven… just can’t seem to make it down to the brewpub so far. Good looking pour is dark copper with a finger of creamy beige head, lots of lacing throughout. Aroma is a little malty sweet, minor florals, overall mild. The flavor profile is sweet and malty with a twinge of floral bitters. I’d have to agree with the other local raters… this needs to be reworked or scrapped. On the plus side I really like the bottle and label design.
