Draught@SBWF2013. Amber colour with a mediumsized slightly off-white head. Aroma is crystal malts, some floral and fruity notes with a sweet malty touch as well. Flavour is rather similar in a good balance. Very pleasantly balanced and refreshing, with also a bunch of character to it. Very nice!

Sample at SBWF 2013. A bit hazy amber with a small head. On the sweet side with light hops, grape, pine, hay and some caramel. I really like and support the idea behind this beer.

Draught @ The Rover. Pours hazy golden with a frothy off-white head that slowly dissipates while leaving a small lacing on the glass. SMell is tiny fruity and tiny herbal with crackers, white bread, lemon balm, grapefruit rinds, lemon zest, orange zest, grass, pine needles and hints of graham crackers. Taste is bitter and metallic with crackers, white bread, unripe tropical fruits, grapefruit juice, lemon zest, orange peal, pine needles, resinous wood and grass. Mouthfeel is astringent, slightly metallic harsh and light to medium bodied. Finish is bitter and fruity with crackers, star fruit, grapefruit juice, grass and pine needles. The metal is a big problem masking a pretty good beer. Actually hit some kind of release event when I was at The Rover and got to chat with the brewer who was aware of the problem. Hopefully new batches of this won’t be as metallic. I’ll try to sample it again if it’s re-brewed.
