12oz can thanks to Toby. Pours out a crisp golden topped with a sand head. Nose is wet wheat corn grain and some sweetness. Taste is more of corn wet wheat and grain.

Sampled from a 122 oz can this beer poured a cloudy orange-brown color with a medium sized creamy orange-tan head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was tangy toasted caramel, raisin and a sour off undertone. The flavor was tangy and malty with toffee, malt syrup, a faint vegetal presence, faint dark fruits and a sour off presence. Medium finish. Medium body. Uninspired.

From a can, much darker than expected, was thinking a pale lager kinda thing but this is darker than yuengy. Big rocky head too. Taste is certainly ale like, again was expecting a lager tasting thing but this is on par with many craft brws, lacks any macro attributes. Good co2 and it has enough personality without being rude. yes, ther is this medium astringent hop or medicinal thing in there but for the most part a very good beery experience. Can’t wait to taste the lager.

Little aroma, cardboard. Clear yellow, headless. Cane sugar, sweet, fusel alcohol. I wasn’t paying attention to the label and mistook it for craft. It happens.

Total Wine, Fairfax ($1.50): Pours a light amber color with a white head. Aroma is lightly malty, with macro lager smell. Taste is inoffensive, but rather simple and forgettable. Some toastiness. Not terrible, but I should have realized when I was it was brewed in Latrobe, PA...

Pours from a bottle like a typical pale lager. I do however mention that it made a big ’pop’ when I opened it. Clean fresh aroma with a hint of slag. Very light palte, reminds me quite a bit of many lion brews I’ve had from eastern PA. Easy going and friendly for the msot part. Seems to lack many of the city brewing attributes I’m so familiar with. You’d think since was brwed in latrobe at melanie brewing that it would be a little difficult but it really is not. Pretty good sizzly co2 makes it even more likable. Finish is mild and friendly. Not bad but not as good as IC light.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright yellow-golden color with a medium sized foamy yellow-white head that faded quickly and left minimal lacing. The aroma was faintly sour, tangy and industrial with notes of corn and citric acid. The flavor was tangy and industrial with note so cardboard, corn and citric acid. Short finish of tangy corn. Light body. Unimpressive.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear pale amber color with a thin head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of skunk, husky grains and grass. The taste is grainy malts and grass, faint nutty finish. Thin bodied and slightly watery. Meh.

A repop of an old Pgh favorite. I can remember as a boy that I used to have a few dukes but that was so long ago that in no way could I remember what it tasted like compared to this. Anyway, from city brewing, I’m not expecting much. Smell is a little metallic, like many city brews and I don’t mean like Iron City I mean city brewing. Looks like pale lager. First taste has good CO2, nice. Its funny but I think it does have some of that old duke flavor. It has more bite than most pale lagers but I’m not sure if you would call it pilsner bite like so many of the real pilsner beers rataed here. Enjoyable to an extent and it lacks many of those nasty melanie brew charactaristics I’ve become so accustom to. Goes down fairly easy and can’t say much negative about this brew. Leaves a city brewed finish, like some of there cheaper beers, but its acceptable overall. Glad to have finally had a chance to taste this local brew.

Back from the dead. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a yellow-golden color with a large soapy white head that produced a bit of lacing. The aroma was sour, tangy and a bit corny with a light grassy hop undertone. The flavor was tangy and dryish with light grassy hops and a touch of pepper. Short finish. Light body. Unexceptional.
