Draft pour, 10 oz enjoyed at the new Tacoma Brewing location. Beautiful space, beautiful brew. This is listed as a 7th anniversary brew, barrel aged imperial chili stout. Adding my rate here until I can really get down to the fine details. Jet black pour, dark brown cafe foam head. Dry chili heat over a creamy chocolate. Flavor has a slight bite to it, which I want it to have. Its smooth in the middle, but intense on the edges. Lovely. The chocolate and chili combine beautifully. Some cherry notes mixed in. The heat is perfect. The ultimate dessert beer for the pepper fanatic. Its wonderfully warming, the barrels are inpressionable, and dont over or underwhelm the chocolate or chilis. This is a beer worthy of celebration. 10%, full of delicious chocolate, chili, and barrel flavors. This is absolutely amazing.

Draught at Brouwer’s Café, Seattle
Cloudy light amber color, compact head. Nasty smell, butter, some crackery malt. Strong body, sweet, malty, some oranges, not as bad as the aroma, but possibly there are traces of butter again.
Bad.

On tap at Brouwer's Cafe, pours a cloudy orange with a medium beige head. Aroma smells like a diacetyl bomb - seriously, this is so off with the diacetyl. Flavour is just the same, with truckloads of diacetyl. Absolutely gross. I don't know how they get away with selling something this bad. Drain pour.

On tap at Tacoma, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out diacetyl, boiled cabbage and herbal hops. Flavour is similar, with diacetyl, boiled cabbage, herbal hops and biscuity malt. Too many off-flavours. Needs tweaking.

On tap at Tacoma, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out considerable dry hopping, some pine and biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of dry hopping, piney hops, and a dry biscuity malt backbone. Complex and cohesive. Really nice blend.

On tap at Tacoma, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Nose brings out candy floss, some resin and sweet syrupy malt. Flavour is similar, with candy floss, resinous hops and syrupy sweet caramel malt. Much too sweet, almost medicinal like. Not good.

On tap at Tacoma, pours a cloudy pale golden with a small white head. Nose is very spicy and zesty, with loads of all spice and ginger zest showing. Flavour is similar, with loads of all spice, ginger, zest and a touch of hopping. Very drinkable and cohesive. Surprisingly nice blend of weird stuff.
