Description

The Galena Brewing Company is a fresh 10 yr old brewery and brewpub located in downtown Galena at 227 North Main Street (North End) where all the fun dining activity happens. Six regular house brands are on tap, and 5 to 6 seasonal and guest taps are available. The Galena Brewery is without doubt your Happy Place! It has a big fun welcoming ambiance, serving a pub menu of fresh, local and affordable dishes as well as more classical Midwest fare such as Pulled Pork, Salads, Soups and Sandwiches. Brewery tours offered Friday & Saturdays. We have live music starting at 8 pm on weekends, no cover charge!

Tap at Trollfest. Thick brown-black body. Steady beige head. THe vanilla works really well here, balancing out the thick chocolate. Not overbearing on the palate. Tasty.

Tap at Troll Fest. Unfiltered orange-tan body. Foamy off-white head. The tea kind of mutes the malts. The citra is present, but nothing special. OK, but probably better without the tea.

Draft. From notes. Tropical fruits and citrus dominate. Some oddly sweet malt balances it out. Good brew.

Tap at Galena. Thick, unfitlered amber-black body. Thick, steady beige head. Massive coffee aroma. Pretty excellent coffee porter. Creamy chocolate tones, touches of amber malt. Fresh and doughy. Really quite enjoyable. Finishes a touch watery compared to some its peers.

Tap at Galena. Unfiltered orange-brown body. Foamy off-white head. Nutty, toffee malt tones. Pleasant fruity English Ale yeast notes. Medium bodied, clean, no off flavors. Very drinkable. Approaching ESB/Nut Brown..more so than a Bitter,as there isn’t much hop character, very malt centered. Quality offering overall, well made.

Draft - Roast coffee bean, roasty malts and some chocolate. Jet black with a rich brown head. Cocoa and some mild roast coffee and a dark chocolate finish. Easy going and nice.

Tap at Galena. Toasty, malty, classic Oktoberfest. Smooth creamy malt tones. Well lagered. Mellow amber malt tones add some red fruit tones. Solid offering.

Deep brown-orange. Massive mal-poured head. Kind of middle of the road, maybe a touch of rye malt. Faint hoppiness, but mostly malt forward. Not a bad beer, but not that inspired either. Sort of a bland mess. OK.

Deep brown, hint of stained glass amber. A pretty enjoyable brown pumpkin ale. Pumpkin pie spice notes still shine, but relatively balanced by the deep brown malts. Fresh, clean, but fairly forgettable in the sea of pumpkin. Covering the ground between pumpkin stout and straightforward pumpkin ale.
