Draught @ Black Door, Helsinki. Pours dark reddish brown, almost black with a small head. Aroma of sourish berries, hints of funky yeast, wood, oak and vinous notes. Taste is smooth, slightly funky yeasty and earthy with some tartish berries, mild sourness and vinous notes, hints of chocolate and syrup. Finish is funky, woody and mildly tart with some berry juice notes, hints of roastiness and sweetness. Interesting. Reminds me of a lighter, less aggressive version of Lost Abbeys Red Poppy Ale.

Keg@ Black Door. Rating nr #5000. Beer pours deep mahogany, dark brown even, with a thin but lasting light brown head. Red wineish notes, vanilla, chocolate notes. Flavor has toffee quite strong, light vanilla, port wine notes, clearly present, chocolate notes pushing through in the finish later on. Balanced. Awesome, the barrel really has done good here.

Draught @ Bier-Bier, Helsinki. Pours dark orange with a smooth head. Aroma of wood, oak, berries, syrup, hints of fruits and resin. Taste is weird, vinous and sweetish with some wood, sherry, oak, berries and toffee. Finish is sweet, vinous and heavy with berries, hints of sherry. Tap @ Flandes. Amber coloured with an off-white head. Nose is caramel malts, tropical fruits, resin, citrus. Flavour is citrus, caramel malts, fairly bitter. Well hopped. Finish is bitter and slightly dry.

Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, moderate yeasty, herbs, vegetables - yeast. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long to average duration, minerals, vegetables, limestone - chalk, pale malt. Bottle shared by solidfunk at the WWWW Mid Atlantic Summer Beer Tasting. Hazy yellow, thin foamy white head, decent retention. Aroma of wheat, spice, citrus. The taste is wheat, spice, citrus and a mild pepper note. Thin bodied.

Draught @ BierBier. Pours cloudy straw color with almost no head. Could be the small glass (sampler). Barnyard notes, wheat, peachy aroma. Flavor has ripe banana, citrus notes, wheat and mild barnyard notes in finish. Wow. Not sure about the barnyard notes, is it intentional but I don’t care, this is delicious!
