Pours black, small tanned head. Scent is roasty, bit dry, less soy than the 2014 I had besides. Taste is full, roasty, mild soy. Bit more bourbon than the 2014. Still (though sweet) has a certain 'dryness' . boozy, but not over the top. I actually like this one a bit more than the 2014.

Pours black , no head. Scent is soy, bit roasty. Taste is sharp, bit boozy, roasty, loads of soy, some bitterness. Fairly boozy, mild Bourbon barrel. Aged decently, but perhaps a bit too long. not as great as I remember the (non disclosed) vintage from back than to be.

Huge aroma of....you guessed it, hops! Duh! Lots of grapefruit, lemon, orange, and some light resinous pine. Not malts that i can find. Pretty much a one dimensional hop assault on the senses. Heavy bitterness finish, that doesnt let go of my throat. Result, thrashed palate!

Batch 2 bottle at the beer bistro.
Great aroma of sweet bready caramel malts, brown sugar, candi sugar, prunes, figs, apples, peaches, and even some hints of spices like clove, and cinnamon. This is one of the most complex aromas i have ever had the pleasure to smell. The flavor was just crazy. So much came through, loads of sweet malts, more fruit, but especialy the figs, and plums. The finish was a bit dry, and the alcohol showed up in the end. What a great sipping beer.

Nose of tropical fruits, light piney hops, and quite a bit of yesty esters. Some canned fruit flavors emerge, with more light tropical fruit in the finish. A light bitter finish, and some light sweetness. Refreshing, i enjoyed it.

botle at the beer bistro.
Huge arma of ripe fruits, loads of plums, figs, apples, and a boat load of sweet sugars, and sweet bready malts. This is just a sugar bomb, really not much balance. A real sipper. the booze comes through in the finish, and really attacks along with the cloying swetness. Not a bad beer if you are looking for something to sip for desert, but it doesnt even come close to a real quad.

malty, bread nose, and some nuttiness. slight hops, but nothing really. Light caramel, and thin metallic finish. Thin body, and really nohting to write home about.

Dark brown pour, light beige head.
Aroma of roasted nuts, brown sugar, and caramel with little to no hops. This is quite sweet. More nuts in the sweet finish. Almond milk aftertaste. Decent, ut quite sweet, and no hops.

batch #3
very dark ruby pour, small off white head, and lots of floaters. The aroma of LOADED with caramel malt, huge notes of oak, and lots of vanilla. This is the perfect example of a beer that realy benefits from the oak, and really brings out the natural vanilla that oak adds. Now for the flavour.........WHOA this is a HUGE beer. This is the definition of extreme beer. Right off the bat you get SMACKED in the face with booze! A huge warm boozy note warms my mouth and throat. After the initial shock, there are some really nice notes of oak, and vanilla finished with some great caramel malt. This is a sipper, and i think will be tough to finish the whole bottle. This beer was bottled in April of 07, but it could still easily benefit from some age. THIS IS EXTREME BEER.

650ml bottle from dsnowden, thank you!
Wow, i could smell this beer all day. Such an amazing aroma of grapefruit, orange, lemon, and soapy pine!
Flavour is much of the same, so wonderful. Loads of flavourful hops, and the malt is there, and balances this out nicely. The finishis sweet, but also bitter, but not unpleasant. This is an incredible DIPA, very well balanced.
