Dark amber/orange color. about a fingers worth of head. Aroma is quite sweet, i’m picking up apples, bubblegum, and sweet grains. Aroma is quite malty sweet, with a touch of alcohol for good measure. Its very sweet, but not cloying. Overall a nice beer, but a little too much. More of a sipper than a good quenching lager. But still VERY good.

thanks to mcbackus for the bottle.
batch 3 from 2005.
pours a very dark brown/ruby color. very small head that diminishes quickly. Aroma is super sweet, raisins, plums, figs, caramel, cognac, and alcohol. Flavour is again VERY sweet, with a strong cognac flavour that is LOADED with ripe dark fruit, and sugar. This is a super sweet beer. The finish is big on molasses, and you can feel the alcohol warming all the way down. This is definitely a BEAST of a beer. Sit down, sip and enjoy this one.

650ml bottle from Mreusch, thanks!
Pour opaque black, one finger tan head, lasts for a while. Aroma is soooooooooo nice. Thick mocha chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, toffee, ripe fruit, and vanilla. Wow, this smells barrel aged. Flavour is heavenly, loads of chocolate, and coffee, and vanilla. This beer is thick, it coats my palate like oil, man i love thick beer! The alcohol is very well hidden, the 11% is nowhere to be found. I think this beer deserves a higher rating in the Impy Stout category. Truly excellent stuff!

Aroma of ripe fruit, raisins, plums, apricot, with some spice in the backdrop. Flavour is malty, and fruity. The alcohol is present, and it welcome, a nice warming down my throat, a nice solid belgian strong.

hazy amber/brown color. Aroma is full of hops, and minimal malt with a touch of caramel. Flavour is super hoppy. The alcohol is hidden quite well. Finish is quite bitter. There isnt much malt in here that i can tatse, it’s more of a super hoppy barley wine. This seems to be another beer that blurs the lines between Double IPA, and Barley wine, just like Founders Devil Dancer. Still an excellent beer. For someone who loves hoppy beers, this is a treat. I find it to be very very smooth, and super easy to drink. I’m finding myself take big gulps, something i wouldnt do with a robust barley wine.

dark mahogany color, small tn head, good lacing. Aroma is very nutty, notes of hazelnuts, plums, freash baked raisin bread. Wow, i could smell this all day, such a beautiful aroma. Flavour is malty, with again, a good amount of nutty flavours. Lots of hazelnut, and some almond. NIce bready notes in the finish with some ripe fruit. Wow, this is an incredible beeer! I love this!

a little light colored for an ipa, more yellow than a dark amber or orange. Typical american hops aroma, lots of grapefruit, and citrus, with some pine. A nice amount of malt to balance in the flavour. A good IPA.

i’m thinking this might have been too young. aroma is fruity, with some smokiness in the background. wow is this boozy! flavour is all booze! very warm going down your throat, but aftertaste is smoky, and bitter. over a decent stout. but like i said, i think its too young.

re-rate. Batch One.
Amazing, so thick, and creamy, loadsof raosted malt, and wicked dried fruit, and coffee, and big chocolate. The extra year on the batch one got rid of the alcohol harshness i tatses on the batch two. Great stuff.

Bottiglia.
