Behold the stunning crimson hues through the inky blackness. Inhale the noble Hallertau hops, spicy and floral. Savor the flavors redolent of English toffee, rich mocha, sweet molasses, candied currants and a hint of anise. We highly recommend cellaring additional bottles, as the Czar will continue to mature and become denser and more complex with age.

Draft. Pours dark, some chocolate and fruitiness. A little bit too much alcohol taste for myself but still pretty good.

650ml bottle from Mreusch, thanks!
Pour opaque black, one finger tan head, lasts for a while. Aroma is soooooooooo nice. Thick mocha chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, toffee, ripe fruit, and vanilla. Wow, this smells barrel aged. Flavour is heavenly, loads of chocolate, and coffee, and vanilla. This beer is thick, it coats my palate like oil, man i love thick beer! The alcohol is very well hidden, the 11% is nowhere to be found. I think this beer deserves a higher rating in the Impy Stout category. Truly excellent stuff!

2006 bottle. Digging into my cellar for the new year 2022. A big cherry note when I pop the cap. Pretty solid black with a few soda like bubbles. A little oxidation, as could be expected. Still very astringent roast malts, kind of a coffee roast still apparent. But also kind of sweet. I'm enjoying it, while admitting that it's gone off, by me hoarding it for so long. Getting a sherry finish, again to be expected of a 15 year old beer

2014 bottle from Coaltrain. Shared online with Joe. Pours black, with a small, bubbly, tan head. The nose is toffee, vanilla, cherry, cacao nibs, walnuts, and a fair bit of soy. Sweet and sticky, with a little bitterness. Heavy and yeasty, with a sticky, chewy palate. This is a fun and malty beer, but a bit past its prime.

(Bottle) Dark brown colour, almost black, with frothy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of roasted grain, dark bread, coffee, dark chocolate, prunes, liquorice, toffee, anise and a touch of tamarind. Malty, roasted, fruity taste with prunes, raisins, coffee, chocolate, liquorice, roasted grain, orange peel, molasses and a mild roasty bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, quite sweet. Mellow and harmonious, complex and tasty. Very nice.

Thanks to Hopscotch for the bottle and to jbrus for sharing it. 12,2% on the label. Strong aroma of raisin, roasted malt, porto and blackberries. Coffee flavor with porto, berry fruit and roasted malt. Complex, delicious and not too alcoholic. You can almost chew this great beer.

Bomber; Batch No 16, Nov 2016 (ABV 10.6%). Drank by myself on 7th March 2019 while in California, bought at Viejo Liquor, Mission Viejo. Poured three times into a lovely Kasteel chalice, it's dark bodied, very dark brown, the head a lighter hue. Malty and fairly sweet from start to finish with caramel and chocolate notes in both the aroma and taste. Some liquorice and dark fruit hints in the flavours also. Very drinkable.
