Description
Eurocentric and Northwest Infused Craft Brewery in Eugene, OR
ColdFire Brewing is a small craft brewery located in Eugene, Oregon. We are motivated by European brewing traditions and inspired by a Northwest aesthetic and ingredients. We brew small batches, working to refine the art propelled by generations of craftsmen. ColdFire Brewing was born as the dream of Dan and Stephen Hughes, brothers by birth and homebrewers since 2001. After a decade apart, the Hughes brothers decided they needed to go into business together. And as a result, ColdFire was born. Every day, they continue to be humbled by the opportunity to share their craft with others.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a small beige head. A big sweet bourbon nose. Big, sweet, hot, sharp bourbon, light wood. Pretty damn nice. Sweet vanilla. Hot. A bit thin.

Winter 2018 batch. This thing nearly drowned my pizza. Farmy nose, crisp mild flavor with hints of apricot at the back. Just slightly tart. Burns my lip cut.

500 ml bottle from Tavour. The label says it was bottled in Winter 2018, which hasn't happened yet. Maybe it's from the future. Beer gushes out of the bottle after prying the cap off, running onto my counter-top, before I can get it into my glass, which reveals a hazy golden liquid with a quickly collapsing white head. Aroma is fabulous, with tons of apricot, notes of wooden match heads, a bit funky. Taste isn't nearly as impressive as the aroma, being mildly sour, with a highly dry pithy bitter character lingering through the finish. Has a highly carbonated foamy mouthfeel. It has its flaws, but it's not too bad for a beer from the future.

Can Jam at Threes: pours hazy with a white head. Tropical fruit aromas. Taste is sweet and tropical. Perhaps too sweet. Tastes good but is a bit simple.

16oz can pours out a golden topped with a white head. Nose is sweet over ripe citrus and some nice oat malts. Taste is more of the nice over ripe citrus hop some leaf and a nice balanced malt.

Had this at Ventiβs in Salem. Cloudy...NE IPA with a touch of diacetyl on the nose. Has some nice tropical hops but definitely diacetyl in the background. Clumsy brew...green.
