At EBF 2008, Friday September 12Shady golden color, white head. Sweet, some smoked sausage, scent. Smoked, sweet taste. Smoke and tar aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness.

66cl bottle: Pours amber/orange with a small bubbly head. Nose is caramel, bread & fruit. Medium bodied. Very malty - bread & hay with some hop notes in the end! Ok!

Marks for Appearance are an average, as beer was sampled in weak artificial light after dark. Ink, mushrooms, but also vanilla (very markedly), and a sweet aroma, as from sweet frying oil, strange in such a strong stout. Further obvious wood-stored alcohol. Much more classical dry bitterish, very roasted/burnt grains flavour; quite dry, on the verge of cardboard. Retronasal green apples ester (iso....). Quite slick, very well bodied.
