Bottle. Dark golden colour with a beige head. Aroma is fruit, citrus, malt. Flavour is fruit, citrus, malt, hop, grapefruit. Nice / ordinary beer.

(33cl bottle, 6.5% abv) Slightly hazy, reddish brown colour with a beautiful, light-beige foamy head. Slightly sweet and roasted dark malty aroma with caramel, spicy phenols and piney hops. Sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderately roasted malty taste with notes of caramel, liquorice and subtle fruity accents; dry, slightly roasty, moderately bitter finish with a light resiny hoppy touch. Nice, easy going dark Ale.

Bottle. Clear, golden body, with an off-white head. Sweet aroma with caramel and a nice, fruity hoppiness. Hops and malt in a nice blend in the flavor. Pleasant but not big, maybe a bit on the sweet side. Medium to full body, with a lingering bitterness in the finish. Quite nice one. (070928)

Bottle. Clear, golden body, with a fine, lasting, beige head. Fruity, a bit weak aroma, with caramel, citrus and some pine. Moderate flavor with fruitiness and caramel, as well as some citrus. Can. A clear, golden beer topped by a finger-thick off-white head leaving lacings. Too heavy on caramel in the aroma, but at least there’s a good dash of piney, citrusy and slighlty floral hops preventing it from being unbalanced in the malty direction. Full-bodied and nicely carbonated and with a pleasant piney bitterness. Floral notes and some citrus peel too. Too metallic in the very end. A beer that is easy to drink but I could do without the caramel and metal. 101105

Bottled. A copper colored beer with a thick tan head. The aroma is sweet with notes of bread, caramel, alcohol, and metal. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of malt, and caramel as well as some nuts, alcohol, hops, and metal towards the end.

(33 cl bottle at Haket, Göteborg) Labeled 6.5% ABV. Clear copper color, big tan head. Nice fruity and citrus hoppy scent, also apricots and sweet malt with some chocolate. Sweet malty taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.

(Draught at Flottenheimer, Copenhagen, 3 Aug 2007) Golden yellow colour with brief white head. Malty nose with notes of grassy hops and hay. Malty, clean taste with hay and discreet notes of grassy hops. Some malt sweetness comes through. Refreshing but hardly exciting.

Bottle: Deep golden coloured, intensively lacing head; dense resinous hoppy and flowery nose with a well hidden touch of C2H5OH; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, soft, silky MF, light to medium bodied; citrousy influences in the floral-bitter a bit sweetish finish. Distinctively well rounded, well crafted brew..........

Dark brown/black body is clear, with a tan head that is quite fluffy but recedes to ring fairly steadily.
I will say that despite this being a very well-malted, well-textured beer, with the coffee aspect not being overdone at all, there was a rather pervasive element of black licorice, seemingly phenolic, that pestered the aroma and flavor, and produced a near-astringent dryness on the finish.
The aroma was medium-sweet, with light fudginess from the chocolate and base malts and a strong suit of dark, moderately roasted malt. The coffee complemented the nose without dominating and the hops were juicy and green, rather fragrant, but not overly bitter or dominating. Along with the phenols, I seemed to note a touch of fusel sharpness upon warming/breathing. Chocolate and vanilla grow stronger as well, as the beer warms.
A thick, creamy body, with touches of oiliness from the coffee and/or dark malts, with a strong sense of chocolate and vanilla sweetness followed by lightly smokey coffee that seems almost harshly black, as it mixes with the dark malts on the finish to produce a strong drying effect. Carbonation is low, but ample, with the attenuation medium and possibly a touch too much sweetness, for my taste anyways (and it must be way too sweet if young). Some alcohol warmth, and that recurring black licorice note on the end as well. I’ll chalk that up to drinking it with probably more age than intended, and definitely make a point to try it again. Draught at Cockney Pub. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Orange colour. Light malty and hoppy aroma, Sligtly caramellic. Moderate bitter flavor. Moderate bitter almost astringent finish. Creamy palate but too fizzy.
