Description
Attic Brew Co. was borne out of years of beer consumption and small scale production. Oli and Sam met at university in Cardiff where their beer obsession began. Sam began brewing in his bedroom of their shared house and continued after graduating, moving back to Birmingham and setting up his home brewery in his attic.

In 2018, after they'd had the ridiculous idea to start a brewery, Oli left his job in London and moved to Birmingham. They took out a loan, rented a run down old industrial unit in Stirchley and bought a small brew kit that was older than they were. Several months of painting, building and, finally, brewing, allowed them to open the taproom doors on the 23rd November 2018.

Attic was greeted with an unbelievable show of support from local drinkers, who bought into their varied beer board and new take on the traditional local (editors note; we continue to be indebted to you all

Can from Connolly's Wine Merchants. Pours a cloudy gold with small white top. Aroma has a bit of that yeasty citric note expected from a kveik pale but it doesn't dominate. There is some dankness and softer fruit notes. Taste wise - juicy sweet citrus, pine needles, pine resin in finish with a bit of pepper and zest. Very tasty. Nice slick body and fine carbonation. Very nice.

Tap at Attic Brew Tap, Stirchley, early April. A very quick drink before I got my train. Light hazed light gold/straw colour with small white head. Notes of citrus, passionfruit, some leafiness. Light bodied, prickly carbonation. Yes nice indeed, I do like a table beer.

Can from Hop Vault, Stourbridge, online. Pours a cloudy gold, brief fizzy white head, some circular bubbles remain. Aroma of coriander, lemons and elderberry, some grains. Taste starts fruity with a floral elderberry and light sharp tangy lemon, then coriander, finish remains quite tangy with grain, light yeast and salt evident. Light bodied, refreshing. Enjoyable.
