Can bought at The Good Intent, Brum. Hazy-opaque pale orange. Fluffy foamy white head. Aroma is fruity - soft sweet stone fruit with a light bitter/citrus edge. Underlying porridge. Flavourwise it has a sweet fruity milky core. Over this we have a bitter/sour streak. Underlying hints of porridge. Medium bodied. Slick to creamy. Soft-fizzy carbonation provides lift. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Enjoyable soft pale with a bit of bite.

On the day I'm drinking this beer back in 1690 it was the French fleet rolling on the waves as they defeated the English and Dutch at the Battle of Beachy Head. Not a huge head on this once it settled, but consistent with its fair citric bitterness coupled with some pine in aroma.

[33cl can from Beer52’s Midlands box.] A hazy pale straw coloured pour with a tight creamy looking white head; passion fruit aroma; sharp passion fruit taste; with some citrus to finish. Clean, crisp and refreshing.
