Description
In 1850, an entrepreneur named Bernhard Stroh, who came to Detroit from Germany, started brewing beer from his old family recipe.
His new take on that old Bohemian-style Pilsner was a light and refreshing lager brewed in copper kettles down in his basement. He called that beer Stroh’s.
So this crafty 28-year-old upstart would cart his beer around in a wheelbarrow, selling
it door-to-door, bringing it to all the hard working people building up a great city.
That’s how Stroh’s started. Good work for good workers.
169 years later, here we are. Still in Detroit. Hard at work, doing that thing that Bernhard passed down to us. We brew beer.
And we’re proud of that — making something of real substance for the creators, makers, doers and dreamers who shape this city. This country. Helping to build something that’s bigger than just a beer, but always offering a cold one at the end of each day.

12 oz can-pours a white head, color is yellow. Aroma and taste of grain. Good carbonation. When served ice cold it’s 3.0 However, when served at a regular cold, less enjoyable & aftertaste is sub-par 2.2

Can. Corn malt aroma. Light yellow color with small head. Slight sweet corn malt flavor. A favorite while I was in college due to it being the first beer sold in a 30 pack (a free 6 pack is a big deal when you’re a poor college student) as well as being one of the last beers to be sold in a pop-top can so you could decorate your dorm room with a cool beer tab chain. Actually seems to be better than regular Stroh’s however that can be.

Re-Rate: I’m not sure if they have returned to the pre-1979 recipe but something has changed. Barley malt and light straw aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Mildly sweet barley malt and lightly bitter herbal hay flavor. Decent body. This is a pretty solid beer now - there is no longer the horrible cheap lager corn syrup flavor. Clean, nice tasting lager - at least as good as PBR - hopefully won’t become a hipster beer. Think I’ll keep some of this on hand.

This beer is so much better than bud and costs so little. I just found a place where a 30 pack is 8.99, good lord! The price makes it taste oh that much better. So if you need cheap beer I would drink this over the regular american piss.

Has a sharp bubbly alcohol bite to it, with some malt, dosent really taste good, but at least it tastes at all.

Ummm...no. This beer does not deserve an eloquent review, so I'll keep my words sparse and few. Light beer with nothing interesting to report, although there is a slight bit of flavor that is often missing in the outstanding (yes, a joke) "American Standard" style.

very strong yeasty presence with a lot of head and a copper/metallic taste to it. Too much sweet, stale malt flavor. tastes like an ice beer even though its not.

No it's not. Maybe a fuller body than regular Strohs but this is still bland, watery drek.
