On tap at BrewDog Leicester. Mid-brown and translucent with a ring of beige head. I smell the rum, big a beautiful, but little else. Tastes sweet, tummy but also a big hit from the dark malts. There's molasses sugar and light spice in the finish. Softer carbonation. Not bad stuff by any means, but the base beer us so delicate that barrel-aging gives you the rum and little else. Not the least bit subtle but certainly worth giving a go.

Tight creamy tan head on a reddish brown still body. Bubble gum & fruity aroma. Medium bodied, nicely carbonated over the tongue with cloying back. Pine, pith, resin, grapefruit, malt, tangy bitterness & stewed fruit tastes with clean tasting finish. Refreshing & decent interpretation of the style.

Third, on tap at BrewDog Reading, Collabfest. Shared with Finn. Bright golden body, stable white head, scattered lacing. Smoked meat on the nose, promising. Similar taste of smoked mead joined by a touch of caramel malts. Smoked malts lingering on throughout. Just alright. (Reading 20.10.2019).

Keg at the brewery taproom, Melton Mobray. Very light gold and clear with a slightly scummy bit of white head on top. Lemon balm, tangerine peel and hay combine with grassy and floral notes. Divinely sweet taste with lemon drops coming through along with caster sugar. Light body aided by the tight carbonation. Yum.

Keg at the brewery taproom, Melton Mowbray. Mid- to dark gold, mostly clear with a bit of white head. Light aroma with notes of hay, pine oil and a little bit of metal. Bittersweet balanced taste, quite a lot of malt in the taste for an ISA. Some gentle earthy hop in the finish. Heavy carbonation. Clean and easy drinking if not very complex or engaging.
