From tap. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted dark malty. Smooth fruity, toasted malty, crisp hippy and mild citrusy. Bitter, dark malty and roasted into the finish. Bitter and smooth fruity finish.

Draught No head, black beer. Pure coffee, coffee dregs, pinch of Jalapeño. Cold coffee, bit of bitter chocolate, very intense. Well-bodied and slick. Kouwe koffie . With a spicy vector.

Draught Small rim over red-brown beer. Sweet, coloured malts, cookies with caramel, lightly herbal. Alcoholic bread; leafy, near-bitterish notes, parsley. Balance - for its ABV - is impressive. Bit "tangy"; good against any danger of cloying. Well-bodied, very slick. Impressive, as it absolutely doesn’t show its awesome potence. Great!

Draught Black with ruby highlights; small cream head; Hoppy, dry hops, hopbales, tad of ureum. Very surprising, perfumey flavoured, with lavender and other faint herbal flavours - and little hop?!? Medium bodied, quite slick, slowly fading flavour. Good, but taste has surprisingly little hopflavour, at least for an IPA, black or otherwise.

Draught Quite resistant small dark-beige head over black beer with a reddish shine. Intense coffee aroma, sweet coffee liqueur - like an Irish coffee with not enough whiskey. Sweet, but with a sharp roasted-bitter lining. Like something utterly burnt. Warming up, more hop notes. Medium bodied, long lasting burnt flavour. Not my favourite; seems a tad unbalanced.

Draught Amber-brown beer with a small yellowish rim. Fine dry, aromatic hops, wafting in between some more plain malts. Immediately bitter, husks, walnut and dry spices’ taste (not flavour). In the finish, the bitterness recedes in front of coloured malts. Dry, medium bodied. Medal winner. I understand why.

Draught Copper-golden beer with small white rim. Again very dry hops, hopbales, fruity. Bit of ureum; again this very dry hopbales flavour, and a fruity finish. However, the hopcharacter is not really invigorating the beer. Astringency, dry tart, on the edge of sour, and yet coming as nearly neutral. Strange, this brewery seems stronger in the dark beer styles than in the ur-Californian IIPA...

Draught No head, very ruby-tinted brown beer. Very bready, fresh breadcrust and coffee - the perfect beerbeachers’ breakfast. Coffee, coffeebeans, roasted-sweet; not dull, has some depth. Medium bodied, grist slick, pulpy. Excellent in its style. Just sweet enough, nowhere too sweet - why can’t everybody do it like this?

Draught Amber-red with a whitish rim. Lighter and intenser darker coloured malts, chocolate or ’brownies’, nutty, bready and mineral wafts. Dullish sweet, with non-bitter cacao, and some interesting leafy/autumnal flavours. Light body, spritzy to fizzy carbonation, bit empty finish. Well... light.
