Between 1911 and 1966 Bière du Mont-Blanc was brewed in Saverne. In 1999 a determined and passionate Savoyard, Sylvain Chiron, revived “Bière du Mont-Blanc."

Bottle at Yespr’s. It pours clear, reddish-amber with a minimal beige head. The nose is candied stuff, must, burnt fruit load, spice and dirt. The taste is sweet, boozy, wood, earth, dried fruits, burnt bread, spice, must and medicinal notes with a dry finish. Medium body, prickly carbonation and oily mouth-feel. I’m not a fan....

Bottle@Yespr’s - pours brown with a small off-white head. Sweet malty and yeasty, caramel, spice and herbal taste and aroma, faint hop and floral nuance as well. Bit weird overall.

Bottle 750ml. w. swing top. [ As Mont-Blanc Brassin d’Hiver aux Marrons ].Clear medium amber color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread, caramel, dusty, moderate yeasty, candy, sweet yeast. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration, spicy, yeasty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20140201]

Bottle @ yespr. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty spicy caramel aroma. Sweetish malty spicy caramel flavor. Has a sweetish malty spicy caramel finish.

Sample from 75 cl. bottle. Unclear, amber colour with a smooth, tanned head. Sweet aroma with fruits, caramel malts, butterscotch, spices and light yeasts. Taste is sweet. Medium body. Finishes fruity with bread and rich caramel malts. Rather sweet, albeit not unpleasant.

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, christmas spoces, caramel, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of christmas spices, malt, and caramel, leading to a bitter finish.

cloudy brown, smooth offwhite head. aroma is malty , mild, kinda like a pilsner, faint. dry. flavor is sweet malty, faint dried dark fruits, faint caramel, quite sweet.

Bottled 750ml. -from Sherpa Tignes. Darker amber coloured, medium sized airy off-white head, caramel in the nose. Sweet malty, caramel, some spices and discreet nutty touch with mild notes of hops and honey. Dryish sweet finish. Could be better.

Bottle brought back from France. Poured a pale golden colour with a large, fluffy white head with visible, natural carbonation. Aroma of banana, mild clove and yeast esters. Pilsner malt flavour with some barley sugar and lemongrass. Finish was quite light with some sultanas and straw.

Small creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry fruity, citrus peel, flowers, hay, coriander, yeast, wheat, orange, herbs. Taste is slightly sweet fruity, orange, citrus peel, yeast, light malts, hay, coriander, flowers. Little bitterness, slightly grainy mouthfeel. Fair enough.
