Bottle #145/350. Appearance: petroleum black with a one finger tall tan head that stays as a thick ring for long. Aroma: intense prunes, dates and figs, roasted barley, chocolate, oak, delicate rum barrel, brown bread, treacle, a hint of ash. Taste: medium sweet, intense and complex. Initially warming plum liqueur, additional figs and dates. Later subtle oak, and vanilla, and rum. In the ending roasted notes and warming alcohol, as well as some bitter hops, are detectable. Palate: full body, soft to average carbonation. Overall: a highly forceful, complex, and delicious classic barrel aged imperial stout.
