A tasty concoction sure to delight fans of Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout. This one is richer, with a strong, pleasant, sweet flavor. Pours with a nice brown head, and an enticing aroma. Even though this one is a stout, it reminds me of a malty (slightly hopped) barleywine instead of a stout. The sweetness overrides any smoked flavors that may be present. A good beer, and superior to Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout, in my opinion.

Dark golden colour, a perfect colour for an IPA. Nice big bubbled tan head, which settles for a while. Smells of citrus and Hop pellets (as in home brew). Definate hoppy character with some malty notes. A complex palate, but a great overall IPA. I'm glad I can finally 'regularly' get my hands on this beer. This is one of those beers that you keep one or two of around at all points in time, if you are a hop-head, like me!

Amber with white head. Citrus hop nose. Grapefruity green hop flavor and finish Re rate Mar 29/2012 Sparkling amber,lasting beige head.Piney citrus hop nose.Lemony citrus hop profile, nicely balanced, solid malt in back. Great lacing

Bottled. Dark black. Licorice aroma. Dryish nose, rather light bodied, yet firm with creamy mouthfeel. Clean with lingering salty licorice finish.

Hazy amber, large head. Antiseptic citrus nose. Faintly fruity,good malt taste. Medium hop finish. Metallic. Think I got a bad one. Will look for another and re rate Rerate Sept 24/06:Hazy dark amber,small beige head.Light woody, carmel nose. Nice crystal(not carmel) malt profile,lightly hopped.

Pours a nice orange color with a medium orangish-white head. Spice and citrus in the aroma. Dry, biting hops present through the entire glass. Not the strongest hops I have encountered but enough to keep my attention. Even so it was not too bitter. Rather enjoyable brew.

Fairly good Amber, it actually seemed borderline Vienna to me. Sweet caramel malt aroma with a medium sand colored head that disappeared rather quickly. High ratio of malt to hops in the flavor which gave it some good body. This is definitely a solid, well-balanced Amber and I wouldn't mind getting it again.

I don't think this was as good as Fuller's ESB, and it didn't come close to the Crooked River version, but it was still a decent beer. Amber/orange color with a thin head. Big hops aroma with faint citrus as well. Bitter flavor with a dry finish, hops was prevalent throughout which is a must in any ESB if you ask me. Worth getting again some day.
