Cellar clean out session Pt Deux. Hazy orange - amber beer, bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth, semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Soft malts, mildly sweet. A touch of smoke. Mild marmalade and then a little fresher orange. Whisper of mango led tropical fruits. Smoky and floral bitterness on the light finish. Interesting bitter!

Bottle from the Brewers shop/Micropub in Billericay. Pours a deep mahogany brown with a very large and long lasting tan colour head, with mountain peaks of froth lasting as long as the beer did! Aroma of chocolate, malt, dark fruit, and a nutty edge. Toward medium sweetness, and a spot-on level of roasted bitterness. Medium body, sticky texture, average carbonation. Has a dry roasting to finish. Would describe as a proper ’old skool’ porter and really rather good. One of the best porters I’ve had for some time.
