Chelmsford Summer Beer Fest. Cask. Lightly hazy amber beer, few pale cream colour bubbles for a head. Palate is dry with modest fine carbonation. Smoky malts - bleh. Some citrus. Dry finish with more smoke. Hard to drink. Unlike the mighty band, this beer is most definitely not rocking my world.

Bottle at the Croydonia Tasting, big thanks to Bruce for sourcing a corked and caged beer from Essex! 13/07/13. Lightly hazed golden blonde with a thin off white head that clears to a film. Nose is citrus, bitter orange, toasted malts, peach melba, melon. Taste comprises summer fruits, caramel, orange, light hops. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, crisp finish. Ok drinkable stuff, more a high strength GB than an APA for me!

Bottle at the Croydonia Tasting - East Croydon. Thanks, Bruce, for this Billericay! Pours lightly cloudy gold with a foamy white head. Ripe citrus in the aroma, orange, some peach. Light to medium sweet flavor with more orange and peach along with lightly bitter hay. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet on the finish with more dry citrus and peach, slight pine needles. Not bad.

Bottle (C&C!) thanks to Bruce at Croydonia Tasting. It pours cloudy golden-orange with a medium white head. The nose is orange, tangerine, peach, golden delicious apple and honey. The taste is toasty, earth, lemon poppy seed muffin, soft fruitiness, apple and a touch of ginger. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not bad, but not sure it warrants the whole corked & caged bottle thing!!!

21st February 2013
Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival in KEGS! Light haze on this gold beer. Little bubbly white head. Palate is smooth. Orange marmalade, a little floralness, honey. Trace of tropical fruits and a drop of lemon. Finishes semi dry with a medium bitter linger. Nice flavours but with this strength it could use a crisper palate.
