Can (3/2/22) pour from Worldwide Wine & Spirits, Southington. It’s an opaque light brown-dark yellow with no discernible sparkle, finger-width off-white foamy head with fair retention and tons of lacing. Aroma is strong herbal with background hints of citrus and grape. Taste is strong mix of grape and herb with grainy backbone. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with thick, frothy texture, average-to-lively carbonation and mostly malty finish as taste. Overall, look and feel are representative of the style (a little over carbonated) but aroma and flavor are dominated by herb.

Draught @ St. Gambrinus Beer Shoppe, Brooklyn. Sweet, heavy and intense with loads of vanilla, spices and cinnamon, hints of caramel and syrup. Quite decadent pastry stout --- Beer merged from original tick of Cosm of Darkness: Vanilla & Cassia Bark on 25 Mar 2022 at 21:05 - Score: 9. Original review text: Thicccc, heavy and intense with cinnamon, cocoa, vanilla and chocolate notes. Tasty.

2022 vintage can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a pitch black with a finger of brown head that lingers. Lots of cassia and cinnamon stick notes on the nose. Treacle, molasses, tobacco and faint vanilla. Great body, thick and viscous. Killer stout.

Can from Tørst: pours hazy light orange with white head. Aroma is citrus, mango, piña. Taste is not too sweet, light bitterness. Pretty light for a double.

Can (12/20/21) pour. It's an opaque, motor oil black with nice viscosity, light sparkle, finger-plus width light brown foamy head with decent retention and nice rings of lacing. Aroma is strong mix of everything advertised--pecan, chocolate, coconut, vanilla, and coffee all in nice balance. Faintest of alcohol burn to the nostrils with a huge sniff. Taste is strong coconut, chocolate, vanilla, milder coffee and hint of nuts. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with thick texture, soft carbonation, alcohol heat and mix of bitter and sweet coffee. Overall, this is a bit of a beast! Amazing aroma for balance and complexity. Taste is good but not as good as aroma. Alcohol presence is almost fully masked but detracts slightly. Looking forward to trying more of these guys!

Sample at the roost pours a thicccc black, opaque, ring of dark brown head.  Leggy.  Nose has huge cinnamon and coffee grounds and cocoa.  Some ancho, licorice.  Flavors same, heavy malt and cinnamon and raisin, big licorice, malt, turbinado sugar.  Finishes full bodied, sweet, boozy, with some spice kick.  8 4 8 4 15

I'm impatient sometimes pouring so here's an action shot. It's a coffee stout! But a great one! It helps that the cinnamon/cassia maple is upfront, actual coffee is mellow, nice sweet winter weather stout! Thanks Omar S.
