From a 440ml can on 19/1/2021. Pours a slightly hazy medium golden with a small head. The nose is modest - sweet, with just a hint of fruit. Tastes, sweet, sugary and creamy, with a touch of fruit, with mild, slightly boozy bitterness doing just enough to counter. The mouthfeel is milky, the carbonation moderate. Pretty easy drinking for 10.2%, and nice dessertish stuff, but falls well short of the majesty that was Version 2.

From a 440ml can on 4/1/2021. Pours a cloudy medium to deep golden with a typically huge nitro head. The nose is a mix of zesty and unripe fruit. As advertised, it has a very strong peach, mango and apricot flavour but the sweetness is bludgeoned by a fairly pronounced salty hop burn that ruins whatever delicacy the beer might otherwise have had. The mouthfeel is okay for a nitro, with the subdued carbonation not out of place. You can see it might have been a more than decent beer without the burn. Burn is starting to annoy the shit outta me and is presenting in way too many hazies for my liking. Disappointing.

From a 440ml can on 10/12/2020. Have enetered this as a standard, because despite the label, 6.8% is in no way double/imperial in nature. Pours a murky golden with a small head. Smells dank and fruity, as one might expect. The flavour is actually dominated by tangy and zesty citrus, with some tropical and stone fruit notes in the background. It finishes quite sharp and spicy, with a hint of hop burn presenting. The mouthfeel is quite creamy and the carbonation average. Version 2 was arguably the best oat cream I've tried to date, and my expectations for this were sky high. Alas, this is simply not in the same league. Not to say that it's a bad beer - it's actually pretty good and quite enjoyable. It's just light years away from the majesty of the previous version.

Canvent beer number 5 (I think, I'm losing track as I trail behind). My nitro pour worked a little better than usual, but still didn't achieve promised magic. Very dark brown. HUGE nose that smells like someone tipping chocolate cake mix into my glass. Tastes like a very fancy chocolate milk. Sweet and caramel and loads of fun, but I'm not sure it is really a beer.

From a 440ml can on 7/11/2020 (shared with Butz). Pours a deep cherry red with a medium pink head. Has quite a strong berry aroma with a touch of vanilla ice cream in the background. Tastes of boysenberry, raspberry and blueberry, again with a touch of vanilla. Reasonably sweet up front but there’s a reasonably firm tart, puckering finish to balance it out. The mouthfeel is slick, the carbonation moderate. Not necessarily my type of thing but quite refreshing and pretty well put together.

Can for Carwyn Collaborational. Deep pink. Melon nose. Spot on for mouthfeel. Gotta bit of zip. Decent acidity. The kiwi and peach doing all the work. Yum.

From a 440ml can on 20/10/2020. Pours a hazy apple juice colour with a small head. The nose is lightly fruity, spicy and touch dank. Tastes very tropical, with moderate to high level of sweetness, finishing with a light spicy bitterness. The mouthfeel is a bit creamy, the carbonation moderate. It won't change your life, but it's very pleasant and well done.

Can. Lurid pinkish red with a wisp of head that's gone in a tick. Aroma of tangy fruit and a clear twangy lacto Dubbin-like funk. A fair bit of body but not very slippery. Highish carbonation. Quite sour with a good mix of brooding funk and bright acidity. Dragonfruit's not all that flavourful a fruit and you suspect the peach and the wheat beer are doing most of the work here. But that's OK. It's refreshing and has some presence. Good stuff.

From a 440ml can on 29/9/2020.Pours a hazy medium golden with a small head. Smells, pleasant, with a light fruitiness - a bit citrussy, a bit tropical. Flavour wise, it's very dessert like with stone fruit (apricot and peach) leading the way, followed by tropical fruit (passion fruit and pineapple) with a little bit of coconut and vanilla custard in the mix as well. There's a distinct, ever so tart, bitterness that balances things out perfectly. The mouthfeel is silky and creamy, the carbonation softish to moderate. I don't know what Version 1 was like but this is a simply phenomenal imperial NEIPA, with a quite unusual dessert like quality. Complex, balanced and absolutely delicious. Gotta get more of this!

From a 440ml can on 15/8/2020. Pours a slightly opaque deep golden with a big dense nitro head. Has a big mango, pineapple and coconut aroma. The flavour is intense on all fronts - super sweet mango and pineapple up front, and a bit of caramel in the background, followed by a quite sharp and zesty bitterness, with strong notes of peel that coats the tongue and lingers for ages. The mouthfeel is slick, the carbonation barely there (I just don't think I'm a nitro guy). Certainly has a lot of character and flavour, but is a bit messy, and just lacking a bit of balance for mine.
