Description
Põhjala Brewery is the brainchild of three friends and beer aficionados who, like many a future craft brewer, got tired of the tasteless watery lagers that the faceless megacorporations have saturated the beer market with.
We brew small batches of hand crafted ales, using the best malts, loads of mostly New World hops and a relentless passion for good beer. When creating our beers, we are inspired by Nordic nature, Estonian new cuisine and the work of our fellow microbrewers in the U.S., UK and Scandinavia who, in our opinion, are leading the craft beer revolution.
In hops we trust!

Bottle shared at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks mom for this bottle! Cloudy yellow-golden. Lovely hoppy aroma full of tropical fruits, citrus, "green" character and a bit of yeast. Rather dry flavor with fruity hops and "green" bitterness. Medium-bodied. Very good and refreshing.

Flavor of sweetish malt, a bit of caramel, some rye, citric and slightly piney hops and nice moderate bitterness. Medium-bodied. Quite nice.

RBESG pt 18. Moncada. Grand Tasting. Thanks to the generous young man behind the bar at Moncada. Hazy pale gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is mildly dry and light. Big skunky hops, little spice, light citrus. Light floral dry finish with a mild bitter linger. Good stuff.

From tap at Põrgu. Finished my last evening with this one and rating from memory. Anyway, it was memorable indeed. Aroma reminded me of Green Flash Triple IPA, very hoppy, herbal and piney. True hop bomb. Taste is froggy - just as the name suggests. It is quite rough actually, leaves a strong hop bitterness into your mouth and it doesn’t let you go. Somehow I really liked this one, double IPA that is truly tough. Very well done and really following the concept that is laid out by the name.
