(swing top bottle) Slightly unclear, pale golden colour with a big but collapsing foamy white head. Rather anonymous aroma: slightly sweet and subtle grainy and doughy nose with shy hints of herbal hops. Slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Slightly chalky and minimal grainy malt-character with herbal accents; quite dry and moderately bitter herbal and slightly grassy hoppy finish. Just a drinkable Pils, which is not really worth to seek out for. 17.II.10

(swing top bottle, 33cl) Unclear, amber colour with a medium-sized off-white foamy head. Sweet and a bit candy-like toast-malty aroma with notes of caramel and a subtle fruity touch. Sweet and shy bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft, almost a bit flat carbonation. Cara-malty, slightly toated taste with a nutty touch and shy fruity notes; mildly sweet and bitter finish. 10.II.10

Bügelverschlußflasche (thanx to Quack-Duck!): Greenish-golden coloured, tame carbonation, bigger beaten egg-white-like white foam, that slowly collapses; sweetish-grainy and dusty nose; moderate sweetish-bitter flavour, almost medium bodied; increasing woody hoppiness towards the bitter-sweet finish. Average Export......

bügelverschlußflasche (copyright by Quack-Duck!): Golden, a bit unclear, bigger white fluffy head, that very slowly collapses, shy hoppy flavours in the delicate strawy-malty nose; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, quite soft, light to medium bodied; slightly lingering sweetish-bitter finish. O.K., not really exciting....

bottle, boughta ta a Getränkemarkt near the brewery. Clear golden yellow, large and creamy white head. Hoppy nose. Solid malty background with lots of aromatic and resiny hops, resulting in a very pleasant bitterness. Well-balanced Pilsner - seriously good.

bottle, bought near the brewery, labelled Nagolder Weißbier, ABV 5.0%. Cloudy yellow colour, large and creamy white head. Fruity-yeasty nose. Full-bodied, lots of wheaty and yeasty flavours with some shy hints of banana and mango. Pleasantly malty with a slightly citrusy character. A really good example of the style - I liked it very much. As far as I know Gambrinus Nagold was a different brewery and has nothing to do with Anker.
