pours copper, beige head. Interesting braggot, as it pours very beer like, yet retains many good aspects. Aroma had plenty of ginger with a touch of honey sweetness. Taste, lots of ginger, finish had something unique that i can’t pinpoint. Ends with some caramel malts. Very drinkable.

75cl ceramic bottle at home. clear dark orange/amber no head. spritty, apricot, faint honey, spices, pepper. flavor is very strong, honey, spices, alc. stings, apricot/marzipan like sweetness, faint banana, faint citrussy note, interesting in and of itself due to the many flavors present. ends alc. burning , sweet and peppery spicy.

ceramic large bottle at home. pours dark orange, no head. spritty, sweetish apricot aroma. i’d say it is a little too spritty, and i miss some honey. the apricot is real nice. flavor is sweet fruity honey, spicy flowery from the hibiscus, burns from the alc. flavor is unusually well balanced for a mead, slight citrussy or flowery notes balance the sweetness. palate is thick, but not too thick. overall a good mead, but i think it is a little bit to stingy from the alc, and perhaps also from the herbs.

[ 750ml/25.4oz bottle, labeled as 1Pt 0.9oz]-pours an off white head and copper/amber color. Aroma is sweet medium malt-caramel/honey, secondary herbal/spice hops. Taste is very sweet medium malt-caramel/honey, secondary herbal/spice hops. Old Ale meets Boppelbock. Not a session beer for me, but quite enjoyable. Thanks to Joe-jwc215 for picking this out.

Ceramic bottle. 3 year old bottle. Thanks to Bluntaholic. Pours a clear golden color with no head or lacings. Nose and taste is sweet of honey, wood, vanilla, orange, and alcohol. It seems somehow rounded and mellowed out. Warmth and some alcohol. Quite sippable.

75 cl. bottle from skjold burne, allerød. reddish brown with a small white head. aroma is old beer, caramel, dark fruits, barley-wine’ish, honey, toffee, ginger. flavor is ginger, caramel, honey, toffee, booze, alc. intersting but too much ginger, and it comes off as an "old" beer not an old recipee.

FRO throwdown: Copper. Honey and flowers. Notes of agave/tequila? Am I crazy? Flavor is nicely fully sweet, with more peppery hints of tequila. Nice lingering lip-smacking sweetness.

Sample at O-town throwdown ’09 Pours light amber. Plenty of honey and interesting floral notes and light hops. Palate is just very viscous. 19% this one is just sweet and highly enjoyable. This is one fine mead

70cl ceramic bottle, wonder how i’ll get through this one. 21.8% pours clear dark yellow, no head. spicy marcipan, honey that has gone bad aroma. not quite nice. flavor is very honey sweet, add a barrage of bitterness from alc, and lots of herbal notes after that. ends very herbal and warming. unusual mead that goes way beyond honey-booze and into herbal tea honey booze land. when i got accustomed with it i sort of "got" it and i think it tastes cool. "mynte" might be one of the spices. fresh mouthfeel. quite a shock to my palate as my prior beer was a roodenberg gran cru.

Skyview’s January 10, 2009 tasting. Lots of spice in the aroma and flavor. Sweet with honey. Opaque brown color. Spices in the flavor are very much those associated with Christmas, cinnamon, some ginger. I liked this more than most it seems.
