Bottled as SommarSpetz. An amber beer with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of berries and medium notes of spices and malt. The flavor is very complex with notes of spices, bog myrtle, cloves, and malt, leading to a dry end.

Draft. A red beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of spices from the hops as well as light notes of fruit. The flavor is sweet malty and very fruity, but also very spicy, leading to a bitter end.

(Draught) Utterly undrinkable! Nice look, ok but strange scent, though flavor and mouthfeel is terrible! Why does this brewery keep producing beers with obvious infections, and why does places actually SELL things that makes you want to puke?

First rating from 2006Initial Rating Date: 12/24/2006Draught at The Rover, Göteborg.Small thin sweet scent. Lots of metal taste with some acid in the back. You can hint some chocolate as well, especially in the aftertaste, but all in all it’s not that nice. Needs more spices for a Christmas beer. Needs to get rid of the acids that keeps coming back in Ahlafors’ beers. Also needs some more hops.4/4/3/2/8=2.1Second rating, from 2007UPDATED 12/8/2007Tried this again, draught at The Rover, Göteborg.Even though I don’t find it as infected as last year, it still is there. A lingering acidic bad sensation in the aftertaste foremost. They really need to get it together at the brewery or I think they’ll just not be able to sell their beers anymore.Scent was lots of butterscotch and a nice smell of christmas bread. Taste is butterscotch and a bit roasted, though the acidic lactic tone just ruines it completely. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness. Didn’t finish this one. No need to update with more figures, last year it was infected, this year it is infected.Rerate50 cl bottle as "Kungälvs Julöl" from 2009, thanks to Ingo! BB 05/10. Sampled on January 4, 2013.Clear dark brown color, tan head. Sweet, vinous, fruits, hints of flemish red scent. Light acidic, metallic, raisin scent. Light acidic, metalli, raisin taste. Sort of weak mouthfeel, low bitterness.6/3/5/2/10=2.6

Bottled. Hazy yellow colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is strongly metallic, with some sweet malts and almost wheaty notes. Citrusfruits also once it gets warmer. Flavour is malty, grainy, hoppy and salty. Some slight berryish hints also. Very mouthdrying. Pleasant Swedish pale lager for once.

Bottled as Ahle Sommarspetz. Copper coloured, small white head. Big spicy aroma with some maltyness. Flavour is juniper and some other spices all the way through. Herbal brew, which almost is something of a mix of a low alco mead meeting sahti and spices. Lovely!
