Rating added 2/4/2006Draught at Delirium Café in Gothenburg, sampled it from my friends glass on January 14, 2006.Light yellow color. Malty scent and quite nice taste to it. Have had better micro brewed beers, but it’s bettar than many more commercial ones for sure.7/3/6/3/13=3.2

Bottled. Dark brown/copperish colour, almost opaque, beige bubbly, longlasting head. Huge aroma, cinnamon, coffee, alcocol with coffeeish and flowery hints. Lovely flavour of plums, raisins and fruits. Hints of alcohol, but not at all disturbing. Absolutely wonderfull brew! Thanks omhper!

A deep red beer with a disappearing brown head. The aroma is sweet roasted with light notes of chocolate. The flavor is sticky sweet with some notes of vegetables, and with an acidic end. I don’t know what went wrong here - bad bottle? I use to like the style, but this was just not me.

(Bottle 33 cl) Dark brown beer with a light brown head. Very "dark", roasted flavours. Very, very delicious roasted malts that completely dominte the body. Pronounced sweetness and pretty much without bitterness. Notes of roasted coffee-beans - roasted, not burnt. Chewy and very delicate. 270705

Bottle. Sweet, thick, syrupy aroma, malt extract? Chestnut colour, unstable head. Malt extract twang, sourish sweetness. But very nice. Dusty flavour. Very syrupy mouthfeel. Tastes quite good, but the syrupiness puts me off a bit. Carries the ABV quite well. Thanks to rickgordon.

(Bottled) Burgundy colour. Thick head. Fruity, fudgy, slightly roasted aroma. Medium bodied. Roasty flavour of liquorice, toffee and red currants. Sweet and warming. A very smooth and well-balanced Eisbock.

Draught at Glenfiddich Warehouse No.68, Stockholm. Hazily ruby with compact, very rich orange-beige head. Full blown aroma with esters and higher alcohol, exotic fruits like pineapple and kiwi are prominent. Vinous with balanced malt sweetness. Very malty, but does not feel heavy. The flavour is complex - estery fruits interplay with soft malt and grassy hops, all enhanced my the alcohol, which doesn’t shine through. There’s more rye bread than bitterness in the finish. This is an extremely well balanced eisbock, and also very complex. One of the better beers I’ve had! (10/5/9/5/18 = 4.7) Unfortunately the bottled beer was not as good, and has not really held up the way I’d expected an Eisbock to do. The score is thus lowered.

Citric nose. Brown amber, low creamy head. Slightly smoked and citric. Light to medium body. Nice for the low alcohol content.
