Description
Stiegl is a private brewery with a long tradition. For more than 525 years, sustainability, regionality, local added value and above all the quality of our beers and services have been our top priority. However, this quality is only possible because we only use the best local raw materials. The values to which we have been committed since the brewery was founded in 1492 have made us Austria's leading private brewery.
The brewery's success is inextricably linked to the name "Kiener". The brewery has been owned by the Kiener family for more than 120 years. Since 1990 Heinrich Dieter Kiener (III) is at the helm of the company.

250mL bottle, pours a hazy pale golden with a small white head. Nose is pretty skunky, with vegetal notes and grass. Flavour is a little less skunky, with grassiness, herbal notes, and crisp biscuity malt. Too industrial-tasting with that vegetal character. Not disastrous but it's not good.

Clear pale purple/red with some white froth. Aroma of pippy raspberries and hints of malt. Taste wise this is decent for a radler - the fruit element is semi-tart and has a good freshness. The pale malts are notable and there are some light hops. Tasty one.

Bottle from LCB. Clear amber with decent white top. Aroma of grains, bread, caramel, light honey. Taste is more on the bready side at first but then you get sweet caramel and grassy and spicy hop in the finish. Enjoyed it - a tasty malty brew with some reasonable hopping in the finish.

330ml bottle. Clear gold, small white head, minimal retention. Aroma of grains and sweet malt element, some light flora; fairly fresh, nothing exciting but its decent for a pale lager. This follows through to taste, quite an honest graininess but a sweetness to balance. Minor floral to grassy hops. Mild bitter edge in finish. Its a good lager.

330ml bottle. Cloudy gold, small white head; looks ok. Not much on the nose, some fresh and floral hop, pale malts; its fine. Taste is pale malts, light floral and citrus hop, slight yeastiness. Light to medium bodied with some smoothness in the malts, nicely refreshing, somewhat dry. Its pleasant but I'm not going to remember this beer in one weeks time let alone a year.
