Sampled @ NL Speciaalbier Festival Den Bosch 2017. Hazy yellow color, medium sized white head. Smell and taste wheat, nice citrus hoppy, very refreshing, very nice. Tot surprise.

Bottle, BB 11.2021 (from hetbiermoment). Pours very dark ruby-black with beige head. The small head stays. Aroma is sweet, malt, cognac, dark fruits, plums. Flavor is sweet and bitter, booze, fruits, malt, dryness, oak, dark chocolate. Finish is dry and woody with some booze/cognac burn. Overall: very good, very dry and woody.

Dutch spring Bock atypically hopped with Simcoe, Cascade and Citra, thanks Craftmember for sharing. Medium thick, snow white, quickly dissolving head leaving behind a stable moussy rim, lightly hazy peach blonde colour with pale orangeish glow and strong visible sparkling. Aroma of bread crust, dried apricot, white pepper, orange zest (the Cascade?), sandpaper, dried banana, coriander seed, dried wormwood, honey, white grapes. Fruity onset, hints of peach and pineapple with a touch of banana ester, light gooseberry sourishness, honeyish sweetness of residual sugars on top, spritzy and bit numbing carbonation. Smooth, rounded cereally malt sweet backbone, caramelly touch, some light powdery yeastiness in the end, hop bitter finish - much more so than traditional in this style - with an almost tonic water-like, resinous quality to it as well as a weak orange accent; malt juiciness and estery fruitiness remain along with soapy coriander spiciness. Decent, more bitter than average for a Dutch lentebok, but I don’t see the need to coriander it and I was expecting a lot more aroma from the American hops, which seem to be a bit lost here.

Bottle @ home. Hazy ’honey blond’ color, medium sized beige head, lightly fizzy, decently lasting. Aroma is fairly faint, perhaps lightly honey but if it hadn’t been on the label I wouldn’t have known. Taste malts, honey, initially a bit sweet, but overall quite bitter and herbal. Decent to medium body, medium carbonation. Ok beer.

Lightly hazy amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is smooth with decent fine carbonation. Soft malts, light creamy sweetness. Tangy orange hops and a little marmalade. Mild pine. Light hop spice. Tangy citric peel finish, mildly bitter. Tidy! Erm 8.5% IPA? A DIPA surely?
