Description
In 1995, the roof of the Rams Head Tavern in Annapolis, Maryland was removed and a brewhouse lowered in, handcrafting fine ales and lagers under the name of Fordham Brewing. As Fordham’s reputation spread throughout the Chesapeake region, the brewery made the decision to relocate to Dover, Delaware in 2003, where we had room to expand.

1989 stands out as a landmark moment when the Old Dominion Brewing Co. established a brewpub operation in Ashburn, Virginia. The small brewpub quickly became a production brewery that was named one of the Top 50 breweries in the U.S.

Based on our shared values and a common philosophy of quality brewing, Fordham and Dominion joined forces in 2007 and consolidated operations in 2009.

Admin Note: In 2018, Fordham and Dominion Brewing Company ended it's relationship with AB-InBev and is back to being fully independent.

Draft at a local bar. Poured a golden color with a medium sized white had. Aroma was light herbal hops, earthy notes. Flavor was floral hops, bitterness is there. Wish it had a little more citrus or piney bite, malt forward here. Fine.

Bottle from Giant. Flat, dull pour, faint aroma. almost non- existent. Hoping for so much more here, but no to be. Kind of plain, and underwhelming. Generic maltiness, some roast grains. Nothing that screams Baltic Porter. Barely even a normal porter.

355 ml bottle. Pours a copper color with light bubbly head. Aromas of toasted malts, grain, and a little fruit and cardboard. Flavors of dry fruit, dusty toffee and tea with a bit of pine.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Sweet banana a clove (and wisteria?) aroma. Pale and hazy gold. Thin white head is short lived. Sweet with a sour edge. Although it’s the hit of carbonation which makes the initial impact. The banana and cloves then come through. Relatively light bodied. Slick. A dry finish. Good stuff.

Bottle from Booths, Media City. Copper-amber in colour with a thin head. Some fruitiness in its nose, a little blander in taste, but retains a good palatability through a pleasant lightish texture. Slightly sweet in this respect.
