Pale yellow gold and hazy with a foaming head. Aroma promises clove, coriander, dough and a touch of banana. Taste is mineral bitter with mild banana bread sweet undertones. Marred by an aggressive, fizzing carbonation that’s rather putting me off. Body to the light side of medium, mildly watery texture. Flawed.

Can. Dark brown with a proper beige head. Aroma of lemons and tropical fruits, roasted malts and dark chocolate. Taste of roasted malts, lemons, passion fruits, pine, resin and toffee. Moderate bitterness. Medium carbonation. After finally „getting“ this style I‘m always happy to have another one.

Thick sand to cream-coloured head, very stable over fully opaque brown beer with orange highlights. Dry, ureum-rich dark malts, melanoidins, with a soft roast. Dry roast, again ureum, fruit/citruspeel. Very hoppy, straw, coloured corn, and giving an underneath sweetness, very active into a better MF. Gets even more marked warming up. Medium bodied, good carbonation. Very decent black IPA, not outstanding. Txs to Stef!

Brown with a frothy, off-white head. Aroma of roasted grains and pine. Taste is bitter with both resin and roasted overtones. Faint citric. Medium bodied, mild carbonation, good chewiness. Decent bIPA that with good bitterness that could use a little more depth in the aroma.

Huge, dense yellowish head over almost clear metallic yellow-golden beer. Rauchmalz, mineral, smokey, also something like tangerine peel. More smoke malt, and again this sweetish-citrussy flavour as from tangerines. Light bodied, medium to well-carbonated. Interesting and amusing take on the Rauchbier idea. Txs to Stef!

330ml can. Murky, dark brown colour with average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white head. Citrusy fruity, hoppy aroma, slightly chocolately, dark malty background, minimally perfumed hints of lime, lemon, some mandarine. Taste is bitter and minimally tart-ish, zesty, citrusy fruity hoppy, sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty basis, minimally diluted and minimally perfumed hints of lemon, lime peel, milk chocolate.
Watery texture, slightly dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation.

Taster showing very pale turbine straw with half a finger of clean white foam.
The nose shows moderately intense notes of adzuki and lighter notes of pineapple/kiwi.
The palate is well carbonated and medium bodied. Mildly sweet with a Bing cherry forwardness followed by an adzuki bean mid palate and a barely noticeable bitterness.

Can picked up at Dogtap, Ellon. It pours cloudy milky gold with a very decent fluffy white head. The aroma is fresh, ripe, green, weedy, floury bread, orange creamsicle, mango milk pudding, peach, tangerine, orange squash, apricot jam, fruit salad and sponge cake. The taste is firm, dry initially, green, weedy, dank, herbal, some rawness, floury bread, slightly chalky, pithy, zesty, orange, kumquat, grapefruit, campari, floury bread, touch minerality and a nip of booze with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent.
