500ml bottle. Cloudy orangey golden colour with small, frothy, rapidly diminishing, minimally lacing, white head. Spicy aroma has smokey notes of bacon and ham, a herbal touch, some juniper, fruity and malty basis, hints of apple, pear and sauerkraut. Taste is cautiously tart, slightly sweet, salty, smoky, herbal, notes of ham and bacon, juniper, fruity hints of apple and pear, a touch of mild sauerkraut; smooth, soft, silky palate, smoky bacon finish. This is excellent! Superb balance of a classical (food) combination, tastes like a whole dish (Rippchen mit Kraut etc.). I love it!

Light copper in the glass, malty and slightly sourish-malty nose. The beer starts slightly sour, malty and fresh. The mainpart is smooth, slightly roasted and nicely sour. The aftertaste is smooth, great malty-sour and highly drinkable.
A very great brew! I like the slightly sour maltiness. --> 13/12/13/13

Rauchiger, leicht säuerlicher Antrunk. Vollmundig, dezente Kräuternoten, die Säuerlichkeit steigt nicht, ist aber zum Ende stärker im Vordergrund. Harmonisch. 10/11/11/11//11

Cloudy in the glass, yeasty clove/banana nose. The beer starts slightly sweet. Banana, syrup. The slightly herbal aroma in the background has hints of the juniper, probably also the ginger. The mainpart is smooth, mild. Slightly sweetish till the end. The herbal taste fits in great, the sweetness is a bit too sweet for me. The aftertaste is long, yeasty-banana-clove together with nice herbs.
Nice and highly drinkable brew! --> 12/12/10/11

Pale orange and slightly cloudy in the glass, smokey and slightly sour nose. The beer starts smoked, slightly salty, slightly herbal and not as sour as expected. The mainpart is smooth, herbal-smokey. Highly drinkable. Could be a bit deeper in aroma. The end is sourish-herbal, salty-smokey and slightly bitter.
A very interesting brew, but the sourness could be a bit more intense. Nice! --> 11/12/11/11
