Bottle at Bodega in Birmingham. Pours golden. Usual malt aroma with a little dung. Taste is malt but with a little sweetness in there which doesn’t add much. All a bit meh really.

From a bottle. Pours a clear cola brown with an ecru head. Aroma of caramel. Flavors of sweet toasted grains. Smooth finish.

Yellow, thin head. Sort of a sour grain aroma. Taste is the same. Maybe the faintest touch of bitterness.

Pours a black from a bottle, something like a chocolate cola flavor and aroma. Kind of thin. Okay beer.

Bottle. Black with next to no head. Has some dark and slightly sweetened and slightly roasted malts in a very palatable easy-drinking texture that does feel central European in style.

Pale yellow, clear, airy white head. Aroma of dust and nothing else, carbonated, dryish, watery. Cheap dirty stuff.

Near black red-brown beer under a pale greige head, leaving lace. Thick, pure malty aroma, both sweet and roasted/burnt malts, raisins. Less sweet than the nose suggests, sweetish bread, Pumpernickel German black bread. Probably not very high final gravity, but it hands a really heavy impression out; slick to viscous. Definitely not bad, it is indeed true to the German Schwarz character. Proved better than expected, if nowhere the icon MJ used to make it.

330ml bottle. Pours deep brown with a thick, foamy tan head. Big initial fruit hit on the nose, taste is more bitter with a coffee finish. Ok but not great

Dandelion and pencil shavings aroma, surprisingly strong and pleasant. Clear golden, thin head. Strong dandelion flavor, subtle honey, grass finish. Light body, easy carbonation. Great intensity, but sessionable. Drinks like a well hopped English golden ale. Excellent!
