This one pisses me off! I remember first trying this some 10 years ago - a wonderful bittersweet chocolate, caramel-chocolate candy malt, with some spiciness that seemed a combination of the hops and fermentation characteristics. So what is the POS in my glass now? If I closed my eyes I could mistake it for swill lager, yet with a touch of carastan malt for a bare hint of chocolate-roast flavors. Semi-sweet finish. Sweeter up front with cheap tasting malts and corn. Still nice looking, a darkish red turning black.
