Draft pour at the brewery. Pours a dark reddish color with no head. Cherry, oaky, malt aroma. Flavor is spicy malt, mixed berry, malt, and an easy drinking finish. Grape character for sure. Finishes lighter than expected. Overall a solid, flavorful barley wine. Good stuff.

Draft pour at the brewery. Pours a cloudy golden yellow color with a quick fade head. Soft fruit, straw and Belgian yeast aroma. Flavor is fruity. Banana and Belgian yeast. Like a hefe inspired non hefe. Weird beer, but not bad.

Draft 5 oz pour at Perihelion. Pours a cloudy orange color with a thin fizz head. Pepper spice aroma, though the flavor is all pepper flavor with almost no heat. Poblano? Hard to call it any particular beer style since the pepper dominates all the other flavors. Good thing I love pepper beers. Very tasty.

On tap at Perihelion, pours a hazy golden orange with a small off-white head. Aroma reveals resinous hops, biscuity malt and a little diacetyl unfortunately. Flavour is quite malty for a IIPA, with lots of caramel upfront, followed by astringent resinous hops. Don't get the diacetyl on the flavour thankfully. Still, not the best IIPA - rather harsh and lacking cohesion. Meh.

On tap at Perihelion, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out pepper, piney hops and a nice crispness. Flavour is palate wrecking, with shitloads of the smoky black pepper. The hops are bitter and come through secondarily, with a fairly harsh astringency. Difficult to drink after a while but it's a nice gimmick beer.

On tap at Perihelion, pours a deep dark brown / black with a tiny head. Aroma brings out toasted malt and some strange drake bready notes. Flavour is along the same lines, with toasted malt and stale bread. The stale bread quality is very off-putting. The palate is thin and weak. Not good at all.

On tap at Perihelion, pours an opaque rusted amber red with a small off-white head. Aroma is fairly pronounced, with bready malt and dry hopping in good balance - a touch of fruity esters. Flavour is quite bready and fruity, with red fruits, dry biscuity malts and a little citrus dry hopping in there. Good balance and well-constructed. Very nice.

On tap at Perihelion, pours a faded reddish amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out bready malts with lightly sweet toasted caramel. Flavour is quite resembling whiskey, a little smoke, follows by caramel bready malt. More interesting than the average Scottish ale. Very solid and well-balanced.
