Description
We started a Brewery as a means to contribute to a truly artisan craft. We believe in friendship before finance and are happy to help others in this industry as we have been helped by those who came before us. We are bold believers in the fact that a well made beer can cool your spirit and warm your soul.

Our flagship Mason Ale Works production brewery opened in 2017 at our San Marcos Urge Common House Location. Here JJ “Sweet Meat” Jimenez, our Director of Brewing Operations, helms the wheel. All of our can releases like our popular Jambi West Coast IPA and Respeto Mexican Lager are brewed and canned in these four walls. We also crank out an extensive line-up of one-off releases out of here.

16oz @ Phill's. Appearance: dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: sweet, some roasted malts and dark fruits, quite thick. Taste: kinda a weird mix of roasted imperial stout and mead. Overall: this mix doesn't work well definitely. It's harsh, abrasive, and unbalanced.

Poured from 473mL can. Dark brown with small beige head. Boozy below average mead character, dried fruit, lacks complexity, thin. Underwhelming.

16 oz. can, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a small tan head. Aroma is quite boozy, with dark dried fruits, harsh mead notes, and some dark sugars — lacking cohesion. Flavour is very harsh and lacking sophistication, with dark dried fruits, booze, and harsh mead notes. Man, this is messy as hell. None of the elements are particularly pleasant and they work even less well together. Haphazard beer.

Aromas are fairly mild dark malt with a bit of cinnamon and cocoa. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose, on the sweet side with cinnamon coffee stronger add in a bit of molasses. It's decent but not great.

16oz can pours out hazy golden topped with a white head. Nose is nice sweet melons and some citrus hops. Taste is more of the nice sweet melon forward and citrus.

16oz can at share. Golden hazy pour with an abundant white foamy head. Aroma is malty and hoppy, fruity notes, grassy. Taste amps up the hops to an almost dank level, sweet, fruity, earthy. Bitterness lingers.

0.473l can. Black body with a huge brown head. Aroma and taste of chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, sour cherry and some heavy cream. The finish has a hint of floral hops to it too. It's a sweet beer though. Medium body with a creamy texture. Nice one for sure.

Can, 0.473l. Aroma of chocolate, nuts, roasted malt, vanilla and dried fruit. Pours almost black color with thin creamy light brown head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts with medium sweet and rich roasted malt and coffee, follows by dried fruit, herbs, nuts and ash, mouthfeel is rather dry, while finish is mild bitter. Medium to full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Naughty by nature…

0.47l can. Slightly hazy orange body with a thing white head. Caramel and raisins both in the aroma and the taste with orange zest, mango, grapefruit, grape seed and even a touch of berries. Bold hop presence for sure both in flavor and bitterness. Thicker than average body long lasting bitterness after the sip. Nice West Coast IPA. Not sure why brewers tend to avoid thisbstyle nowadays. It's cool and this beer is a nice example of it.
