About
We started a Brewery as a means to contribute to a truly artisan craft. We believe in friendship before finance and are happy to help others in this industry as we have been helped by those who came before us. We are bold believers in the fact that a well made beer can cool your spirit and warm your soul.

Our flagship Mason Ale Works production brewery opened in 2017 at our San Marcos Urge Common House Location. Here JJ “Sweet Meat” Jimenez, our Director of Brewing Operations, helms the wheel. All of our can releases like our popular Jambi West Coast IPA and Respeto Mexican Lager are brewed and canned in these four walls. We also crank out an extensive line-up of one-off releases out of here.

12oz can pours with a pours with a slightly hazy copper body that supports a thin off white head of foam. The aroma offers up boozy citrus, faint bread and little else. The hops are citrus in nature. The taste delivers tangelo, cantaloupe and booze. It's pretty smooth with a blend of thin bitter citrus hops, sweet citrus candy and then thin soft booze soaked tropical fruitiness. Nice sipper.

12oz can pours with a slightly hazy copper body that supports a thin light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up flowery perfume, ginger and powder room freshening agent. The taste delivers bracing levels of flowery perfumy hops. Whoa Nellie. Too much. This hop profile isn't in my wheelhouse.

355ml can. Slightly cloudy, orangey, golden colour with small to average, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Zesty, citrusy hoppy aroma, notes of grapefruit and orange zest. Taste is bitter, zesty, citrusy hoppy, notes of orange zest, grapefruit. Neither engineered nor aseptic, but a bit simple, "evacuated".

Keg at Bottlecraft - San Diego. Pours clear honey-gold with a frothy, pure white head. Loads of crunchy cereal in the nose, a little dough and citrus rind. Light-medium sweet flavour with some crunchy pale grains, more cereal, citrus accents, hay. Light bodied with average carbonation. Decent balance in the finish, more pale biscuits, crispy cereal, low bitterness. Very drinkable lager.

Can. Orange/banana, coriander, wheat malt, and straw aroma. Cloudy golden yellow with moderate white head. Moderately sweet citrus, coriander, wheat malt, and mildly bitter straw flavor. Okay body. Pretty good - would have liked a stronger malt flavor though.
