The label of this bottle looks like it come out of the early 19th century. I was excited when I looked at the label and saw there was nothing added to this brew to make it, except apple juice! So many of the so called ciders available locally are concoctions of all kinds of additives. Unfiltered, this stuff pours like an unfiltered wheat, swirling magic in the glass form the gunk on the bottom of the bottle, but not excessive. I’ve never had a cider before that had sediment on the bottom of the bottle. Aroma is tart and sour, from the time you pop the lid of the brown 22 oz bomber to the time it settles in the glass. I used a sniffer to drink this one. Wow, what a taste impact, simpler is better when it comes to ciders. Tart friendly sour apply palate. However, the 6% alky is readily apparent, I haven’t really tasted a strong cider since jjpm74 sent me the Putney Mountain Scott Farm Spy that kicked my ass. The alky content however is not overwhelming and does not distract from the flavors, until that is, you start catching a buzz near the bottom of the bottle. Very enjoyable and very friendly, quite a taste experience. Sip after sip I am amazed about the simpleness of this brew, just plain great all round. The feel on the palate is tingly welcomed carbonation. The only thing that keeps me from giving this a 20/20 overall is the mild alky finish that is apparent after each sip. This session was simply a pleasure, I hope this becomes readily available in the Pittsburgh area. Don’t gulp this down too quickly!

Bottle. Fresh apple juice aroma. Light yellow color. Sweet apple cider flavor - minimal dryness. A very nice cider - would drink this anytime.

Cloudy golden pour, with a slight red tint, and loads of chunky floaties - medium-tart aroma, with loads of fresh, earthy apple aroma (go figure) - the flavor is overly sweet, which is off-putting at first, making one feel like he is drinking carbonated apple juice - the over-ripe, natural apple flavor is quite nice, though, especially for something marketed as "hard cider" - that’s not really enough to make up for the cloying sweetness, though.
