Another winner from Carlyle. Great summer beer. Nice and light with just enough sweetness to still be refreshing. I’ll be bringing a growler of this one home.

Draft @ carlyle. Pours a hazy dark orange with about 2 fingers of white head. Aroma of citrus and grapefruit. Taste is medium bitter. Citrus and pine. Medium bodied with a slightly sticky texture. Lively carbonation and a decently long finish. Overall, pretty good. I would gladly drink this again.

Draft at the brewpub. Opaque black-brown. Roasty, classic Stout. Sweet, almost approaching Sweet Stout on second thought. Medium to full bodied, with some sticky caramel tones. Middle of the road. Generous road trip rate.

Draft at the brewpub as Hopulus Lupulus. Awesome thick yeasty appearance, thick murky orange brown. Solid IPA, thick and malty, with some orange citrus hop balance. Very smooth, lots of thick yeast, malt tones. Hits the spot.

Draft at the brewpub. Hazy, golden-tan. Thin, steady head. A really well crafted Heller-Bock. Full-bodied, with some spicy noble hops. Sweet and creamy, lots of fruity pungent lager tones. Remarkably true to style. Well done.

Draft at the brewpub. Served in a goblet. Slightly hazy orange-tan color. Soapy, steady thin head. Sweet and mellow, medium bodied. Some funky harnyard yeasty sweetness. Approaching peppery, but still quite quaffable. Sweet, very pleasant, quite above par for a stateside Belgian. Approaching Bierre de Garde, well done.

Draft at the brewpub. Deep brown-black, opaque. Sweet Porter-like malt aroma. Roasty, smoked aroma. This is my kind of Scottish Ales. Medium bodied, with some light mossy roastiness. Light soapy cocoa bitterness blaances it out. Malt centric all the way. A touch of oak? Nice.

Draft at the brewpub. Hazy orange-brown-tan. Medium off-white head. Soft carbonation, a little watery. Sweet, with some orange-banana tones. Smooth, medium bodied, not much depth. OK, rather unimpressive.

Growler shared by guyinchicago at the RBSG ’10 Grand Tasting. Poured a clear amber gold with a white head that dissipated slowly. Aroma was sweet with lots of vanilla with a backing cream note. Flavor was sweet as well from the vanilla but more reserved as the cream balanced nicely.

Growler shared at RBSG by guyinchicago. Thanks! Pours a clear golden color with a medium head. Good head retention and lacing. Big vanilla notes in the aroma, along with pale malty notes and caramel. The taste is vanilla, pale malty notes, and a nutty finish. A bit on the sweet side but still pretty nice.
