Dry, lots of smoke, dark chocolate and licorice through out the beer. Intense all the way. Alcohol well hidden. Much drier than usual for the style. Very enjoyable.

Clear copper brown color, small vanishing off-white head. Aroma is woody hoppy with some sweetish exotic fruits (passion, mango). Light to medium bodied, a bit watery. Carbonation is low. Caramelly malty, some woodyness. Bitterness rises in the finish: exotic fruits, passion, kiwi and mango. Mufloni Rakau is ok session drink. Rakau has some similarities to Nelson Sauvin, but is less fruity and less bitter.

Draft. A black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and a bit of smoke. The flavor is sweet malty combined with notes of roasted malt, wood, and smoke, leading to a dry finish.

Handbottled.Clear medium to dark red brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy smoke - peat - rope, roasted, burnt. Flavor is heavy burnt rubber and tar with a long long long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090321]

Black with a tiny beigee head. Flavour had burned malt and hints of lacto. Flavour had burned malt, bitter coffee and hints of lacto and ash. Finished dry from the ashes.

Draught (Helsinki Beer Festival 2009) - Hazy amber in colour. Peach in the aroma, with a hint of spice. Sweet taste with a slight tart element, and fruit with a hint of spice.

(Bottle at HBF2009) Dark reddish brown and cloudy. Small white head. Sweetnes, hops and pine in aroma. Full bodied and lightly oily palate with medium carbonation. Malts, sweetness, bitterness, pine, saltiness and resin in taste. Resin and malts in aftertaste.
