Description
Big Block engines made their debut in family cars in the late 50’s and early 60’s long before the muscle car ever hit the streets. Back then, ordering a Big Block motor was rare, expensive and not real great on gas. People put these larger, powerful motors in their 4-door Impalas, Galaxies, Wildcats, and Vista cruisers because they wanted more. It made their drive to work or the store just a little bit better, a little faster, a little more fun…. it separated them from the rest and best of all... they did it because they could.

Our brewery was founded on the same principle. Our brews take a little longer to produce, they cost a little more to make, and they just might be a little more fun. When we sit down to have a beer, we want something a little bit more. Why do we brew this way? …Because we can. Take one of our brews for a test drive, sit back and enjoy the ride. Cheers!

Draft pour pint at Big Block, Carnation. A hazy golden orange pour. Rocky cream foam head. Cranberry is hardly detectable here for me. Very wheat forward, and dominant throughout. A hint of holiday like fruit flavor, I suppose. Slightly tart as a result, but in the end, this is an easy drinking, full flavored wheat. Pretty good.

Draft pourpint at Big Block, Carnation. Reddish brown appearance, clean. Mild but noticeable plum character, over a mildly dusty cocoa and bready malt. Barely tart. Not sweet. Smooth drinking, and ultimately unique. Fun style for a more different adjunct. Doesn't need to have a point. Quite good.

Draft pour pint enjoyed at Woodin Creek. Burnt orange pour, with a thin lasting head. Bold bran like malt up front. Flavorful brew, some bready notes, an easy, and refreshing finish. Nice brew overall.

Draft pour pint at Hop and Hound, presented on nitro. Clean penny copper pour with plenty of tan cream foam. Creamy texture with some subtle metallic character. Rich caramel malts with a hint of berry like sweetness here. Sharp malty nose. Finishes on a more bold caramel note and a little toast. Always fun to find a nitro pour on a less typical style. Unique red here. Tasty brew.

Draft pour at Big Block, Sammamish. Purplish pour, really funky color, with a thin fizz head. Tart, mixed berries on the aroma. Flavor is a similar jammy tart fruit. Mellow wheat underneath the fruit. Unique beer for sure. Decent.

Draft pour at Big Block, Sammamish. A clean golden orange pour with an oily head. A grassy hop distinct to Mosaic with little doubt. Bitter earthy hop constant on the flavor. Lingering bitterness here common with their other hoppy offerings. Not bad.

Draft pour at Big Block, Sammamish. Dark cola like pour with a thin fizz head. Sweet chocolate aroma with a slight tart note. Flavor is Mostly an odd tart, metallic note. Something seemed to go wrong here, but could be a lot worse. Soft chocolate underneath. Slight miss, but overall alright.

Draft pour at Big Block, Sammamish. Shiny golden orange pour with an oily head. Spicy orange and malt aroma. Flavor is an extremely bitter hop up front, that only grows in bitterness as it goes. The flavor seems to be nice at the start, but a dry bitterness closes that door quick. Hints of orange fruit up front, straight to orange peel later. Dang. Quite the IPA here.

Draft pour at Big Block, Sammamish. A dirty blonde pour with a thin, oily head that fades. Very malty kolsch here in both aroma and flavor, though quite refreshing. Lingering malt finish. Quite flavorful for a kolsch as a result. Nowhere close to what I’m used to for the style, but still pretty good overall.

Sampler at brewery. Chocolate aroma as promised. But a real thin and mineral, artificial flavor to the beer.
